The original shop in San Pedro is known for its hipster vibe and super cool vintage clothes. Long Beach, the newer location, is enormous, with over 13,000 square feet of bargains galore. Check them both out. When you shop, you’ll be supporting The Beacon House Association on San Pedro, a nonprofit dedicated to helping men recover from addiction and rejoin their families and communities. Recess first opened its doors ten years ago, and since then has become quite well-known for a “curated, unique assortment of fun vintage and contemporary clothing and accessories.” A lifestyle expansion in 2021 means in addition to clothing and accessories you can now find home decor “from the 20’s to the present, including unique haute couture, non-designer, and global finds.” Recess is open six days a week, closed on Sundays. The Colleagues

“The Colleagues’ resale room sells vintage, budget and designer clothes, accessories, jewelry, menswear, antiques, decorative arts, and home goods.” This high-end designer resale shop is part of a non-profit founded in 1950, and sales benefits Children’s Institute, Inc. The collection changes constantly, based on current donations, but you can count on the quality to be high and the selection to be fabulous. Currently open only on Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm. Crossroads

In addition, Buffalo Exchange is deeply involved in their local communities, supporting both national and local charities, keeping single-use plastic bags out of the landfills, and hosting special events such as the annual Earth Day $1 Sale. Mark your calendars – the second Sunday of each month you can shop at the Rose Bowl Flea Market and Market Place, also known as the “World’s Largest Flea Market.” And while it’s not technically a store, it does need to be included on a list highlighting resale opportunities. Shop from over 2500 vendors “selling everything from coveted antiques, rare vintage finds, and today’s most up-to-date trends.” Tickets are now available online.
