The Celebrity Red Carpet Wrap – A Review

Do you ever feel like you need a good detox? For me it’s always right after the holidays…after the delicious consumption of all of those cookie and mega carbs. After the season of stuffing myself with all of those extra toxins, I was just feeling straight up gross! Luckily, living in the land of the beautiful people, there is a solution for that sort of thing. This year, I was fortunate enough to experience a celebrity-style detox, fit for the red carpet. Literally celebrities like Tyra Banks, Ellen Degeneres, among others use the LA SlimWrap method to get “red-carpet ready.”

Let me first explain that this is not a weight loss method, but you do in fact loose inches from your overall figure. With that said, I was a little skeptical at first. Afsi Naim, the owner and proprietor of LA SlimWrap explained to me that every person is different and therefore actual inches lost can vary. My partner Kimberly’s mom, who also experienced a wrap, lost several inches more than I did despite her equally slender shape. Many people think…”Oh they wrap you up and you just sweat out some water weight and gain it all back as soon as you walk out the door.” To the contrary, there is no sweating going on and in fact they give you a poncho to keep you warm when the wraps start to get cool!

The process of being wrapped up with mineral soaked ace bandages while you’re half naked was very interesting to say the least. This should definitely be enjoyed with a friend and a glass of wine (but I guess that would defeat the whole toxin extraction purpose!) Since I went alone, I considered myself lucky enough (mostly for the conversation) to be wrapped right alongside a second-time slim wrapper and contestant in the Miss California USA 2012 Pageant. She was obviously taller than little ole me at 5’4” and I’m betting thinner…being that she’s in the running for the state title and all. She told me that the first time she was wrapped; she lost an amazing 11 inches. She was back a few days before the competition to get herself LA SLIM-IFIED. The beauty queen had driven two hours for her wrap!

On to the details of my experience! After changing into my best granny-panties (they warn you to bring extra to change into), I was measured in 12 different areas and wrapped up tight like a mummy. Looking absolutely ridiculous, I loaded up onto a Gisele exercise machine and got some light movement going for 50 minutes. Every 20 minutes or so, I was treated to a nice warm mineral bath, that coated my wraps. My only complaint was the fact that the wraps get a bit chilly, but they do offer you a heater to keep you warm. Once I was de-mummified, I was measured again. I had lost 7 inches from all over my body. The best part was the way my skin looked….totally silky smooth. There was definitely a reduction in those unsightly bumps that shall remain nameless, but  sometimes appear on our skin (in the worst places)!  As I got dressed, there was a noticeable difference in the way my favorite Joe’s jeans (usually a little snug) fit.

How the heck does it work you ask?
