Description:

826LA provides students with tutoring that will improve their reading and writing skills. Because the tutoring services are free, participating students must meet certain requirements (that are online). Tutors are volunteers, and once homework is completed, volunteers turn their attention and focus to reading and writing. Students ultimately write and publish their own stories.

ARC After School Programs

ARC after-school programs currently serves 13 elementary schools, 11 middle schools, and 19 high schools in Los Angeles. After-school activities include homework assistance, enrichment classes, and an academic enrichment academy.

Beyond the Bell’s programs are wide-reaching, serving students in more than 600 public schools. Programs are offered at every grade level and include homework assistance, organized games, and enrichment activities.

L.A.C.E.R. After School Programs

Description:

Students who are enrolled at one of the schools that L.A.C.E.R. serves are eligible to participate in L.A.C.E.R.’s after-school programs. L.A.C.E.R. (Literacy, Arts, Culture, Education, and Recreation) operates five days a week and is free. Check the website for more information and to see if your child’s school is on the participating schools list.

LA Conservation Corps After School Program

Type: Academic, Homework Club

Description:

The Los Angeles Conservation Corps provides their After School Program at 13 middle schools and 3 elementary schools. The program begins immediately after dismissal and is offered until 6:00 pm. Children are provided with tutoring, academic enrichment, and are able to choose among a variety of special activities in which to participate including performing arts, creative arts, sports, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

Los Angeles Boys & Girls Clubs

Description:

Originally founded in 1944, The Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club offers a variety of after-school programs for students. Homework assistance, “The STEM Adventure,” fine arts, and much more are offered. Check the website to find a location.

Type: Academic, Homework Club

Description:

Check with your neighborhood public library regarding after school programs. Most offer special study zones so that students can work on their homework assignments in a quiet, focused environment. Additionally, many public libraries host a variety of after-school activities including those geared towards STEAM lessons and more.

Zaniac Learning Center

Description:

Zaniac is a new after-school program that engages K-8 students in supplemental S.T.E.M. education – giving them the skills and motivation they need to create a better future.

Our programs are designed from the ground up to prioritize fun, active engagement, and an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving.

The Santa Monica campus offers K-8 after-school programs and school year camps in Minecraft, Computer Programming, LEGO Robotics, Game Design, Zane Math, 3D Printing, App Creation, and more. The campus will also offer Homework Help and Birthday Parties.
