I love Halloween anyway, but I especially love Halloween at Disneyland. The park is decked out for the holiday in the spectacular way that only Disney can do it. MomsLA was invited to Mickey’s Halloween Party last weekend after hours and it was a trick-or-treating extravaganza.
Mickey’s Halloween Party is a special ticketed event that happens after the park is closed on specific dates. The tickets aren’t cheap, but it’s worth it for Disney lovers who are looking for a fun Halloween party with unlimited access to candy. There were so many trick or treating stands with everything from Clif Kid Z Bars to carrots to Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. But there was so much more than just candy. Main Street was lined with trick-or-treat stands and decorations.
And rides like The Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain were transformed.
Ghost Galaxy was really fun and a little scary (it’s dark in there!). The lines for rides weren’t that long so we got to do quite a few, but the best part of the evening was walking around and checking out the costumes. The kids were adorable of course, but the adults went all out like these guys below.
The night also included a Monsters U Dance Party at Tomorrowland Terrace featuring Mike & Sulley in a spirited Monster Scare-Off and Mickey’s Costume Party Cavalcade. Of course, no trip to Disneyland is complete until you see the fireworks. The Halloween Fireworks show, Halloween Screams, was pretty spectacular.
It was also great to see many of our blogger friends there.
There is more Halloween time fun at Disney’s California Adventure. We’ll share more about that next week.
Disclosure: I wasn’t compensated for this post, but my family and I received passes to Mickey’s Halloween Party for review. All opinions are my own especially the part about the candy.
