There must be something special about today, September 10, 2012, because all the new and returning Daytime Talk Shows are launching. While Ellen launches to all the fanfare that her 10th Anniversary deserves, and The Talk begins its 3rd Season, Ricki Lake, Katie Couric and Jeff Probst all debut their new shows today as well.
I can’t speak for Katie Couric and the New York shows, but I can tell you that here in Los Angeles, Jeff Probst has the best audience experience by far. The Jeff Probst Show producers have decided to make the audience feel like Queens (and Kings) while they wait for taping to begin. They’ve set up a big waiting room area that they’re calling the Party Room that feels like the nicest rec room you’ve ever seen.
I attended the show with Andrea Fellman of SavvySassyMoms.com and we had a blast. iVillage sent a film crew and made a video of the event, as did I.
The Party Room has a snack bar with complimentary goodies and coffee, a few massage chairs for relaxing, a hair & makeup station where stylists will make sure you look your best, a table with computers just waiting for you to check your email or update Facebook, and a photo booth for some fun souvenirs.
Jeff’s a fun host, clearly comfortable with the camera and interacting with his audience. I can’t tell you what the show topic was that I saw yet (sworn to secrecy), but I will tell you it was funny and very interesting, and that there were great guests.
If you’re in LA, looking for a fun TV show taping experience, I highly recommend making a reservation for The Jeff Probst Show. Click here to check local listings for showtimes in your area
