Oprah Winfrey’s O You! Seminar was all about helping the thousands of attendees figure out the next chapter of their lives. But thanks to Dr. Phil McGraw, Suzi Orman, and Iyanla Vanzant the next chapter of Oprah’s life seems pretty well set.
At her Los Angeles seminar Saturday, she personally thanked the trio (Plus her “Tweeples”) for helping breath new life into her beleaguered OWN network. She said that after the press had been writing story after story about how OWN was going down the tubes, Dr. Phil had called her to ask what he could do to help. He said she could run his syndicated talk show on the network. Suze Orman had told her old friend that she would cut her on a deal for the price of her weekly show, “America’s Money Class with Suze Orman.” And then Iyanla Vanzant came along with a powerful new hit show, “Fix My Life.”
Most interesting to me was how she thanked her “Tweeples,” for all of their support. She was referring to the OWN Ambassadors, the grassroots group of fans who have stood by her and her network from the beginning, taking to Twitter and Facebook to talk about OWN and its shows.
The ratings are up and life is good. Especially after she found a lump in her breast recently. Everything is fine, but the news was shocking to BFF Gayle King. Gayle was the first one to take the mike during the Q & A session and asked how her friend of several decades could keep this information from her? Oprah said she didn’t want her to worry.
It was fascinating how Oprah made everyone feel that they were a part of her life, if only for a few moments. The entire day was amazing. So much to learn and so many interesting people to learn from.
Suze Orman, Dr. Phil, Martha Beck, Peter Walsh, Dr. Laura Berman, and Iyanla Vanzant shared their stories of success with advice to be a better You. I’ve been getting Oprah Magazine from the beginning and so has Sarah so we were very familiar with all of the speakers.
We were not the only ones. In this video you can see the length Oprah fans will go to see her.
Adam Glassman was very complimentary of Sarah and her super hip outfit.
I am in love with Val Monroe and her natural approach to beauty. In this video she talks about how to care for aging skin.
Sex Therapist Dr. Laura Berman gives great tips on how to keep the love alive.
And of course, Gayle King had wise words for women and what women take away from the O You! seminar.
MomsLA had media passes to cover the O You event. Yvonne Condes and Sarah Auerswald are the co-Founders of MomsLA.com, a community of Top Mom Bloggers in Los Angeles and Southern California.
