And you’re in luck because there are multiple places you can go ice skating in Los Angeles, even while wearing t-shirts and shorts!

Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. brings the holidays to the downtown district with the grand opening of the Ice at Santa Monica, presented by Netflix skating rink. The beloved ice rink will once again transform the corner of Fifth Street and Arizona Avenue into a winter wonderland, bringing a touch of holiday magic to the beachside community. The rink opens on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 and will be open daily through Monday, January 15, 2024. Check the website for times. There are concessions and party rentals are available. Check the website for special theme nights, including ABBA Disco Night, Holiday Pet Pageant, and Ugly Holiday Sweater, among others.

LA Kings Holiday Ice

Starting Friday, November 24 and running through December 31st, the city’s largest and most popular outdoor ice rink will return to L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles just in time for the holiday season. This year’s rink is proudly presented by Coca-Cola® and supported by Blue Shield of California, CD Law, Mammoth Mountain, Big Bear Mountain Resort, and Los Angeles Department of Water & Power. 

The popular Supper & Skate at L.A. LIVE will also return offering special deals at select restaurants for skaters coming to the LA Kings Holiday Ice rink. Before or after their on-ice sessions, fans may present their skate session tickets at participating L.A. LIVE restaurants to redeem special dining offers. Participating restaurants include Fleming’s, Katsuya, Lucky Strike, and Savoca.  Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar will offer a 10% discount for all skaters on the day that they skate.

Ice Skating at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is thrilled to announce its Inaugural Fire & Ice Festival, featuring one of Orange County’s largest waterfront ice rinks, spanning 4,000 square feet. The Inaugural Fire and Ice Festival kicks off a season of holiday fun at Newport Dunes with an opening night celebration on November 24, 2023, alongside the 33rd Annual Lighting of the Bay, and runs daily through January 1, 2024. We are excited to bring a waterfront ice rink to Newport Beach. Skaters can enjoy the lights of the bay as well as our Fire & Ice Festival.

The waterfront ice rink, one of the largest in Orange County at an impressive 82 x 50 feet, will be open daily from November 24, 2023, to January 1, 2024, offering a picturesque outdoor skating experience. Skaters will enjoy stunning water and marina views, and during the evening as the bay is illuminated, the rink transforms into a winter wonderland with a backdrop of twinkling lights. Don’t miss themed skate nights on the ice rink, adding even more excitement to this holiday celebration.

The Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square is opening again in Los Angeles! Offering lots of winter fun, it’s the city’s largest outdoor rink, welcoming over 54,000 skaters each year. The rink will be open from November 16th through January 7th, 2024. Tickets are available online and must be purchased in advance.

Skating by the Sea

If you feel like scheduling a little getaway, think about the famous Hotel del Coronado. From November 17th through January 7th, 2024, “the iconic resort shimmers and shines as its signature red turrets are draped in thousands of sparkling lights with magical Christmas trees, snowy surprises and garlands galore filling the property with holiday cheer.”

Their special Skating by the Sea Package includes overnight accommodations and two passes to The Del’s legendary beachfront ice rink. Details are available online.

Temecula on Ice

Drive to Temecula for some ice skating fun! “Temecula on Ice returns with a state-of-the-art ice rink, rental skates, Bobby skating aid, and its own radio station playing the best skating music.” The ice rink is open daily from December 14th through January 7th, 2024, including Christmas Day and a special New Year’s Eve skate. The minimum age to skate is 3 years old. Details and advance tickets are available online. 

Santa Ana Winter Village

The City of Santa Ana is hosting Winter Village, a family-friendly holiday attraction, from December 2nd – 31st, 2023. The festivities include live entertainment as well as an outdoor ice skating rink. A tree lighting ceremony will kick things off on December 2nd, and Santa Claus is coming to town, too. Ice skating is offered for ages 3 and up. Space is limited; advance purchase is recommended and can be done online. 

The Annual Oceanfront Ice Rink
Ocean Lawn at Paséa Hotel & Spa

For a fun getaway option, you’ll find an outdoor skating rink at the Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach. “This secluded skating experience is complete with holiday cocktails and bites, theme nights, evenings honoring first responders,” and more. Runs from December 14th – January 2nd, 2024. Tickets are valid for 90 minutes of skating. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online. 

Skating Under the Stars
Irvine Spectrum Center

From November 3rd through January 7th, 2024, families can take a drive to the Irvine Spectrum Center for the chance to Skate Under the Stars! The popular ice skating rink is located in Giant Wheel Court and is open daily. Thirty-minute skating lessons are also available on Saturdays. Check the website for prices and details.
