PRIV App for Beauty and Wellness Treatments at Home

There are so many things I would love to get done when they should be done. For example, touching up my roots before the gray is an inch long or getting a manicure before the polish has come off half of my nails. I’m not on top of it because I rarely remember to schedule appointments for myself or find my way to a nail salon. The Priv app (short for privileged) was designed to help people experience beauty and wellness treatments in their home on their schedule.

Priv sets up appointments with hair stylists, nail technicians, makeup artists, fitness instructors – you can even get a spray tan – all done at your home or office. I tried Priv last month to review the app. It turned out that right after I decided to review the app, I learned I was going to Disneyland and would be on camera late at night after the World of Color show. I needed hair that would look good not only through the night, but also in the next morning. I downloaded the app and scheduled a blowout with Kathryn.

After downloading the app, it has you pick the type of hair styling you want – blowout, blowout with style, updo, braided, etc. – and for how many people. I chose a blowout that was $50 with tax and tip. Then it let me choose the stylist. Pictures come up with the different stylists and their next available appointment that can be scheduled within 48 hours. Once you choose a stylist, it shows their ratings in three categories – Friendliness, Timeliness, and Quality. It also includes user comments.

I ended up getting a little more than the standard blowout. The app partnered with eSalon through June 18 and anyone who tries Priv for the first time can get $20 off one of the looks. As part of my review I could choose one of the above looks (the styles above cost more). I chose Beachy Waves (on the top far right) and I love how it turned out.

Kathryn was great. She arrived on time, was very nice and interesting to talk to, and did a nice job. The blowout lasted through the night and next day at Disneyland.

I’d be interested to try Priv for the other services like manicure or massage. Priv is available in Los Angeles, Orange County, New York, London, Hamptons, and Austin.
