Japanese Garden Festival

Celebrate Japanese art and culture at Descanso Gardens on Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Families will enjoy Taiko drummers, Japanese cuisine, tours of the Japanese Garden, and Ikebana displays. All activities are free with admission ($9 for adults, children 5-12 are $4, and children under 5 are free).

American Indian Arts Marketplace

Bring the family to southern California’s largest Native American arts fair on Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Here you’ll find more than 200 Native American artists representing more than 40 tribes showcasing a variety of art work (beadwork, pottery, sculptures, photography, painting, carvings, and more) as well as live performances, discussions, and children’s activities. Tickets are available online. ($12 for adults and children 3-12 are $4).

Aquarium of the Pacific’s Autumn Festival

This two-day festival (Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm) celebrates the season of autumn as well as honoring several Asian nations. Through traditional music, arts and crafts, dance, and food families can learn about and celebrate the cultural heritage of China, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines. The Festival is free with Aquarium admission ($28.95 for adults and children 3-11 are $14.95)

Fairplex Garden Railroad

On Sunday, November 8th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, families are invited to the Fairplex Garden Railroad. Built in 1924, you’ll find 9800 feet of track showcasing several different scenes and train styles. The Fairplex Garden Railroad is considered one of the oldest and largest miniature railroads of its kind. This free, open-house event is a must for any train-loving family!

Sunday, November 8th, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, is Family Day at ESMoA, an art laboratory in El Segundo. Families will have the chance to explore “Experience 19: TOUCH.” Artists of all ages can participate in a special scavenger hunt and create their own art inspired by what they observe at this free event.
