Get ready for all things bug-related on Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st. The Natural History Museum’s two-day festival (from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm each day) has so much to see and do! Exhibitors will be on hand displaying bug-related products (like honey and silk) and bug-inspired artwork and jewelry; check out exotic insect collections; go on bug hunts in the Nature Gardens; watch Bug Chefs cook up protein-filled snacks; get up close with these crawly creatures; participate in arts and crafts, and more. Tickets are available online; the Bug Fair is included in regular Museum admission.

Museums of the Arroyo Day (MOTA)
Six Museums in Los Angeles and Pasadena

Museums of the Arroyo Day is happening on Sunday, May 21st from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Six museums (in Los Angeles and Pasadena) offer free admission during this special yearly event. Participating sites include The Gamble House, Heritage Square, Lummis Home, Pasadena Museum of History, Los Angeles Police Museum, and The Autry’s Historic Southwest Museum. In addition, free shuttles make it easy to get from one location to another. Families will enjoy hands-on activities, demonstrations, crafts, and more. Check the website for more details.

The LEGO Americana Roadshow

The LEGO Americana Roadshow will be at the Glendale Galleria through May 29th (Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, Sunday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm).  Families will view ten large-scale models of some of our most loved national landmarks including the White House, the Statue of Liberty, the Lincoln Memorial, and more. There will be opportunities to learn lots of fun facts as well as build some of your own LEGO creations.

Discover Recycling: L.A. Sanitation Open House

Kids who are interested in trash trucks and families who are interested in learning more about recycling should plan to attend the Discover Recycling Open House on Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. This free event includes information presented by “Mr. Recycle” as well as free trees for families to plant at home (trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require proof of residency in Los Angeles). Family fun includes games, demonstrations, and more.

Endangered Species Day
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium

May 20th is Endangered Species Day at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. From 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, families will learn about endangered marine animals; view live, endangered white abalone; participate in a scavenger hunt; enjoy story time; take a guided beach walk; and more. The event is free.

Pick Pico 2017
Overland Ave. and Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA

The Pick Pico Street Fair is happening on Sunday, May 21st from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This free community event features over 100 booths offering information on local government, neighborhood businesses, food, live entertainment, and more. Kids will especially enjoy the special Kids Zone featuring a bouncy house, hula hoop area, and more.
