Story Time at the Fowler Museum

On Friday, August 4th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, the Fowler Museum is hosting a special story time for children six years old and younger. This interactive story time will allow children to “look, listen, and learn from the picture book What Does it Mean to be Global?” After the story time, children will have the opportunity to learn about the traditions and cultures of people all around the world in the museum’s permanent exhibition Intersections: World Arts, Local Lives. The event is free and no reservations are required.

Hot Wheels Garage
Automobile Driving Museum
610 Lairport St., El Segundo, CA

The Automobile Driving Museum invites families to its Hot Wheels Garage on Saturday, August 5th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This fun event features life-size Hot Wheels cars, a balloon artist, face painting, Hot Wheels cars and race tracks, $2 ice cream sundaes, and more. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 11-17, and free for children 10 and under. The entrance fee also includes admission to the Main Building of the Museum.

“Make It and Take It” Kids Craft Class

Saturday, August 5th (and each Saturday) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, children are invited to participate in the “Make It and Take It” craft class at Dockweiler Youth Center. This free activity is recommended for children 12 and younger.

Street Food Cinema: E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial

Families are invited to a special screening of E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial on Saturday, August 5th. Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of this special film in a special way. As part of Street Food Cinema, families can expect to enjoy live music before the movie, food trucks, and fun. Doors open at 5:30 pm, the band performs at 6:30 pm, and the movie starts at 8:00 pm. Ticket information is available online. (The movie is rated PG).

Garden Concerts for Kids
The Getty Center

Garden Concerts for Kids is “a free outdoor music series for kids and their families.” Saturday, August 5th and Sunday, August 6th Secret Agent 23 Skidoo will be performing from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. This Grammy-winning group “combines the excitement of hip-hop with the magical world of childhood.” The event is free and does not require a ticket.

Storybook Adventures
Kidspace Children’s Museum
480 N. Arroyo Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91103

Kidspace Children’s Museum is hosting Storybook Adventures on Sunday, August 6th. Participate in the magic of storytelling as kids build a cardboard castle, create a storybook potion in Arroyo Adventure, paint their story, and more. Adventurous story times will be happening throughout the day with a special presentation at 1:00 pm. Admission is $13 each.
