Some of your favorite PBS characters will be at the Los Angeles Zoo this weekend on Saturday, February 18th and Sunday, February 19th. Several fun activities are planned including meet-and-greets with Daniel Tiger and Curious George, a dance party, themed arts and crafts, book readings, and more. The event is happening from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day, but check the website for a schedule of events. The event is included in general Zoo admission ($20 for those 13 and older, $15 for children 2-12, and free for children under two years of age).
35th Annual Black History Parade and Festival

The annual Black History Parade and Festival begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 18th at Charles White Park. The Parade will conclude at Robinson Park, and after the Parade, the Festival begins. From 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm, festivities include exhibits and displays, live musical performances, food for purchase, and kids’ activities. At 1:00 pm, there will also be a special ground-breaking ceremony for the Robinson Park Recreation Center renovation project.
Ooey Gooey Weekend

It’s an “Ooey Gooey Weekend” at Kidspace Children’s Museum from Saturday, February 18th through Monday, February 20th. It’s time to get messy and have fun! Children will make their own green algae slime, create play dough poop sculptures, have fun at the oobleck station, and much more. Saturday and Sunday the fun is from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Monday the hours are 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. The event is included in general admission ($13 each, children under one are free).
2017 Los Angeles Travel and Adventure Show

Families are invited to The Los Angeles Travel and Adventure Show on Saturday, February 18th and Sunday, February 19th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. While parents may be looking for ideas for their next family vacation, there will be lots for kids to do. Kids can take a virtual trip around the world without leaving Los Angeles! Try out the bungee trampoline jump and the Yosemite rock wall, take a picture at the Grand Canyon, and imagine traveling through the Sahara desert while on a camel. There will be an underwater experience at the dive pool so come prepared with a towel and swimsuit and/or wetsuit. Kids 16 and younger receive free admission. Tickets are available online.

LACMA is offering free admission to visitors on Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 20th. Stroll among the galleries, take a tour, participate in a family sketching activity, and enjoy live Bavarian folk music (performances will be at 12:30 pm and 2:45 pm). The Museum opens at 11:00 am.

Celebrate Presidents’ Day at the Ronald Reagan Library on Monday, February 20th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The festivities include live musical entertainment, arts and crafts, storytelling, presidential and first lady look-alikes, and more. The Presidents’ Day activities are free to visitors; however, regular Museum admission does apply to view the Reagan Library and Museum.
