Almond Butter Banana Smoothie Recipe
It’s not easy to find healthy “treats” that aren’t loaded with sugar. I’ve been searching everywhere for them because I’m 2 weeks into the Whole Life Challenge, an 8-week online healthy challenge where you give up sugar, bread, and most processed foods and track your exercise.
I love sweet treats so I came up with this satisfying smoothie. It has almond butter, cherries, and Vega Protein and Greens powder. The powder has brown rice protein and is sweetened with Stevia. The smoothie is sweet, which is why it makes me so happy, but if you like less sweet add less protein powder.
Almond Butter Banana Smoothie
1 frozen banana (okay if not frozen, but the smoothie is best when it’s really cold)
1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons almond butter
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop Vega protein powder
Combine all of the ingredients into a blender.
Mix until smooth.
Enjoy! Makes 2 servings. (Or, if you’re like me, one serving immediately followed by the second serving.)
