The juice is one of the great places to get juice one the Eastside of Los Angeles

In the land of eternal sunshine it’s only natural we take our juicing seriously. After overindulging during the holidays, the New Year is a perfect time to enjoy a healthy beverage. Below are our favorite juice shops in the Eastside! We suggest you give them all a try in 2017.

Las Palmitas
3691 E 3rd St, East Los Angeles, CA 90063

If you want something that is blended right in front of you, this is the place to go. They will make it any way you want it. But the traditional Mexican treats will sure please your kids. They have “chamango,” an ice drink with mango and spice, and homemade ice cream. I swear you will want to go more than once. They have various locations including one in East Los Angeles.

Que Delicious
287 S Atlantic Blvd, East Los Angeles, CA 90022

This isn’t your average juice bar. Everything is freshly made from the juice to the smoothies to the delicious milkshakes. If you need to revive yourself, the “Anemia” is a concoction of beets, carrots and celery. Your kids will also enjoy assortments of shaved ice topped with fruit,or nuts. Plus they have delicious fruit cups with Latino flair and unique ice cream and sorbet. We love the unconventional soursop flavored sorbet. The only problem will be limiting yourself to having one juice.

Eagle Rock Juice Company
1565 Colorado Blvd, Eagle Rock, CA, 90041

Founded by Eastsider Lorraine Vontista this juice company in Eagle Rock serves hand pressed juices using only locally grown, 100 percent organic ingredients and juices that are pressed right in their locale. The shop also has a compelling background story. With 10 signature recipes and seasonal options you will find something for you and your kids. We like “Loleta’s Hot Cousin” with Pineapple, Cilantro, Lime, Cucumber & Jalapeno. As a bonus we love the founder’s story, mom on a mission to spread a healthy lifestyle!

The Punchbowl
4645 Melbourne Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027

A juice place created by two Brooklyn transplants as a refuge from the stress of the city; Punchbowl has a menu that’s to die for that includes delicious, organic juices and smoothies. The menu changes regularly, but we loved the Rita Hayworth! With evening Primrose Oil, Strawberry, Rosewater, Coconut Yogurt, Raw Honey, Almond Milk and Coconut Meat. They also have shots like candida killer and eternal life that will help you feel healthier after eating all that chocolate over the holidays. The location is small so you might not hang out for long. But they have a jar with change for the meter to help ensure you don’t get a ticket!

4936 York Blvd,Highland Park, CA 90042

With juices that are never processed or pasteurized, you can taste the freshness in every ounce of juice at this appropriately named Highland Park venue. The Green Apple, Lemon, Kale, Triple Ginger juice has an incredible kick. This location gets bonus points for having a kid table with crayons so they can get creative while you enjoy your beverage.

Glowing Juices
1557 Echo Park Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90026

This juice bar serves organic juices and smoothies based on the 7 chakras. While you might think that is “too LA” for you, we suggest you give it a shot, or rather a Wellness shot of wheatgrass or turmeric. They also have vegan cupcakes if the kids aren’t into the other stuff. For adults we liked the anti-inflammatory juice with apple, celery, beet, watermelon, boy choy, chard and turmeric. Grab a salad for dinner while you are there. With friendly staff and focus on how foods make you feel, we think this place is worth checking out.
