Maybe it’s a reward for surviving Tax Day last month. But, for whatever the reason, May 15th is National Chocolate Chip Day. Here is a list of places that can help you “celebrate.”

Barnes and Noble Cafe
The Grove
189 The Grove Dr. K 30, Los Angeles, CA 90036

It’s called the “Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookie” for a reason. This large cookie includes three different types of chocolate — bittersweet, semisweet, and Hershey’s Kisses.

Joan’s on Third
8350 W. 3rd St., Los Angeles, CA 90048

There’s plenty to tempt you at Joan’s on Third. You may already know about their salads, their sandwiches, their picnics, and their holiday meals. But make sure to save room for their chocolate chip cookies, too. In fact, the Los Angeles Times adapted the recipe from Joan’s on Third and deemed it “The only chocolate chip cookie recipe you’ll ever need.”

Corner Bakery Cafe
800 N. San Fernando Ave., Burbank, CA 91502
(and several other southern California locations)

Sure, they have chocolate chip cookies here. But why stop with that? Corner Bakery also serves up “Monster Cookies” — complete with chocolate chips and miniature M&Ms. Perfect for any “cookie monster” (parent or child).

Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough
1566 Colorado Blvd., Eagle Rock, CA 90041
(and several other Southern California locations)

When you’re after the illusion of “home-made” but maybe don’t have the time (or the energy) to make home-made chocolate chip cookies, call on Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough. A package contains sixteen individual cookie clumps. Bake in the oven, and enjoy the big smiles that will come your way when you serve them for dessert.

Pancakes and Waffles:

700 E. 45th St., Long Beach, CA 90807
(and several other southern California locations)

IHOP has you taken care of, whether you’re a kid ordering from the kid’s menu or a kid-at-heart. They’re called “Chocolate Chocolate Chip Pancakes” served with a generous dollop of whip cream on top. You’ll feel as if you’re eating cake for breakfast. For kids, they offer the “Funny Face” pancake — a chocolate chocolate chip pancake with a face made of whipped cream, cherries, and chocolate chips.

The Waffle
6255 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028

The Waffle actually has more than one chocolate waffle for you to choose from. You can order one that also comes with strawberries and whipped cream or select the “Chocolate Chip Waffle” served with chocolate chips and a side of chocolate ganache sauce.

The Griddle Cafe
7916 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90046

“Chocolate Chip Cookie Crusted French Toast.”  Intrigued yet?  That’s just one of the many tempting creations you’ll find on the menu at this popular Sunset Boulevard restaurant. The details — French toast covered with Chips Ahoy! And then topped with powdered sugar and whipped cream!

Ice Cream:

Diddy Riese
926 Broxton Ave., Westwood, CA 90024

You’re not just limited to ice cream here at this popular Westwood spot. You’ll also be tempted by their cookies and brownies. And when you can’t decide, you can have them all. Try an ice cream sandwich or a cookie sundae (made with your choice of cookie and ice cream).

Cold Stone Creamery
3388 W. Century Blvd., Inglewood, CA 90303
(and several other Southern California locations)

Here, you can “chocolatize” to your stomach’s content. Go with one of their famous “Signature Creations” (their “Chocolate Devotion” includes chocolate ice cream, chocolate chips, and pieces of brownie and fudge. Or create your own unique combination. Either way, you’ll enjoy freshly-made ice cream mixed with your favorite add-ins.

Beachy Cream
1209 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90403

All the ice creams at Beachy Cream are organic and made on site. Their menu includes chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream as well as vegan (and non-vegan)chocolate chip cookies. And if you can’t decide between cookies or ice cream, enjoy the both in one of their famous Ice Cream Sandwiches.
