Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA at Dodger Stadium

LUZIA by Cirque du Soleil opens on December 8th and runs through January 21st, 2018 and you’ll definitely want to get tickets. I was able to go to a media preview of LUZIA at the Mayan theater downtown and I was blown away.

Majo Cornejo of Cirque du Soleil's LUZIA sings at a media preview for the show.

LUZIA takes audiences on a journey through Mexico. The White and Gold Big Top is an escape to an imaginary world suspended between dreams and reality.

For singer Majo Cornejo, being such a central part of the LUZIA Cirque show was a dream come true. She sings all of the songs in the show. “The dream of my life always was to sing,” she said.

The show has scenes from all over Mexico highlighting the culture and beauty of the country in a dream-like way. It includes 5,000 cempasuchil flowers on stage to the inspiration of indigenous tarahumara runners to soccer players to the mighty jaguar.

And of course there are amazing thrills and incredible acrobatics.

In the show, the Cyr Wheel artist will be performing under rain showers while an aeralist supsended from a Trapeze flies and twirls. Plus, you’ll see a contortionist twist his body in amazing ways, a Guinness World Record holder juggle seven pins at one and an aerial strap specialist “defy the laws of gravity” above a pool.

LUZIA tickets are on sale now.  Today until November 27th, save 35% on tickets using the link.

Disclosure: I attended a media preview of the show.
