CTA + Techlicious Lunch + Learn: Movie Time

This post is part of a Sponsored Campaign.

We watch movies so differently than we did 20 years ago. Once upon a time, you had to go to a movie theater to hear those words, but now you can watch a movie in the comfort of your home, with full stereo surround sound and super high-quality picture.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and Techlicious recently produced an event for Influencers in Los Angeles, and MomsLA acted as co-hostesses.

We gathered at the Video & Audio Center in Century City, where we could see different video and audio tech in action. Representatives from Samsung, Sony, Harman/JBL, and 20th Century Fox were in attendance, and they showcased many of their products designed for home streaming in style.

New Streaming Video Tech

There is so much tech involved in TV and Audio these days, it’s important to know a few things before you buy. 4K Ultra High Definition TVs have over 8 million pixels, which is 4 times more than HDTV. That sounds amazing, right? 4K provides much higher resolution and greater detail.

But in order to get the full effect, you’ll need to watch 4K content, which you can get from services like Vudu, Netflix, and Amazon, and from Blu-Ray disks. You’ll also need to have a strong wifi signal, with 15-25 Mbps. So check with your Internet provider.

Pro Tip: you might also need to purchase a new HDMI cable. Believe it or not, an old one can make the picture quality seem bad – and they probably cost less than $10.
