I envy women with great style – women whose clothes are impeccable and houses look like they jumped right out of a Pinterest board. I don’t have the style gene and I’m always looking for tips on how to style myself and my house. Thanks to Eva Longoria Bastón, one room in my house is close to perfect.
We are almost finished with our house remodel and I needed bedding for our guest room. I couldn’t find anything cute online or at the mall and my mom was coming to visit. I mentioned this while I was at a preview party at The London in West Hollywood for Eva Longoria Home at JCPenney. I went home with the Solana comforter set and pillows for review and I can honestly say that I love the set. And so does our dog, Chuy.
The comforter is warm and cozy and the design in soft and pretty. It’s lavender and white. Yes, I realize that the curtains don’t match and there’s no other furniture in the room, but the bed itself looks just lovely.
The Solana collection is just one of sets featured at the event. There were two rooms plus bathrooms decorated with the bedding and bath line.
After being treated to hair, makeup, nails and mini-massages Longoria chatted with the group about her inspiration for the bedding line. She said “I always want to make sure my house is a home.” She accomplished this even when she lived in a tiny apartment in Hollywood, she said. She didn’t have money so she would buy discount material and make her own curtains and pillows. It was then that she started dreaming of having her own line of throw pillows and bedding.
I asked her if she had any advice for decorating our Spanish-style house. She said to make sure not to go too over the top with patterns. (Hopefully I haven’t already done that!). Here is the interview below.
Eva Longoria Home is available now at JCPenney stores and online.
Disclosure: I was given bedding for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
