Father’s Day 2017 Gift Guide and Giveaway

Giving gifts is one of my favorite things to do; I’m really good at it. I love thinking about what someone needs or wants and then surprising them with it on their special day. The very best gift I’ve ever given was to my very adventurous husband for his most recent birthday. I told him he needed to block out the day in his calendar because I had something very special planned. That morning I gave him a card that said, “I hope you were serious when you said you’ve always wanted to go skydiving. Because you’re doing it!” He did it and it was spectacular.

If you’re looking for a great gift for the dad in your life, we’ve compiled an assortment of the Best Father’s Day Gift Ideas for all the special dads out there. And we’re also giving away an excellent gift for the dad who travels.

Skydiving is one the great gift ideas in the MomsLA Father's Day Gift Guide

Traveling Dad

A Rhone Traveling Dad Kit is one the great gift ideas in the MomsLA Father's Day Gift Guide

Traveling these days is not easy. Lines are long and delays are inevitable. But if your special dad is wearing travel clothes from Rhone, premium men’s activewear, every traveling day will be so much better. The Travel Dad kit contains an Element Tee, Mako 9″ Shorts, Sentinel Long Sleeve, Reign Short Sleeve Crew, Torrent Pant + Free Gym Bag valued at $360 and retails for $299. We’re giving one of these kits away to one lucky winner. Details in the Rafflecopter below.

Gaming Dad

Do you have a gamer dad in your life? Then he’ll love the Playstation 4 Slim Gold Console. Why? Because it’s limited edition and it looks cool. It comes with a 1TB hard drive and a gold Dualshock 4 wireless controller. He can play games, watch live TV and movies, listen to music and more.

Outdoorsy Dad

An Alltrails subscription is one the great gift ideas in the MomsLA Father's Day Gift Guide

I was planning to get my husband an AllTrails subscription for Father’s Day, but when I asked him if he knew what it was, it turned out he already had one and had used it on his backpacking trip with our two boys. AllTrails is an app that lists pictures, maps and descriptions of trails all over the world. There are a lot of cool features including a map that will show you where you on the trail map and the ability to filter trails by difficulty distance, rating, and whether they are dog-friendly and kid-friendly. It’s free to sign-up and $29.99 for a 1 year subscription.

Tech Dad

I keep seeing this everywhere I go. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro is a cool gift for the dad who likes to have a secure house. You can see who is at the door from the inside the house or with an app if you’re not home. It records video footage and will alert you if motion is detected. It also comes with night vision and the ability to talk to people through the doorbell. It’s $199 and expert installation is an additional $99.

Adventure Dad

My husband is still talking about his tandem skydiving adventure. He did it through Skydive Coastal California in Camarillo and I thought they were great. We went during the week because it’s cheaper ($209 vs. $249 on the weekend), plus there was less traffic getting there and back. Our first scheduled jump was cancelled because it was too windy, which was fine with me; better to be safe when you’re jumping out of a plane! The day he went was gorgeous and he said the views were incredible. He ended up buying the GoPro video to go along with it, which was an added cost. For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I think it was worth the time and money.

Forgetful Dad

I say Forgetful Dad, but I really mean forgetful me. I want the Tile Mate for myself. You can find your phone, keys – anything! Think of all the time I’d save not looking for my phone. The Tile Mate bluetooth tracker is small, attaches to keychains, a purse, a backpack and is $24.99 for one pack.
