iD Tech is an academic and tech camp that offers day programs and sleepaway camp (my boys attended the day camp). It offers male and female students ages 7-17 a chance to learn to code, design video games, mod Minecraft, engineer robots, model 3D characters, build websites, print 3D models, and more. Tech-savvy instructors teach curriculum in small groups of just 8 students per instructor so both beginners and advanced students can learn at the perfect pace. Campers learn foundational STEM skills, and enjoy long-term benefits that extend beyond school, college, and future careers. The instructors for both my boys were very nice and seemed to me to be extremely knowledgeable.
iD Tech also offers a variety of summer programs for kids and teens, including an online learning platform for ages 10-18, early-education STEM programs for ages 6-9, an all-girls camps for ages 10-15, and two-week, overnight academies for teens called iD Tech Programming Academy where students ages 13-18 explore advanced topics in programming, app development, electrical engineering, and robotics.
Alexa Café is also an academic, tech day camp and sleepaway camp, but it’s only for girls ages who are 10-15. At the camp they discover a passion for technology in a unique environment that celebrates creativity, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship. Weeklong, collaborative courses are taught in small groups of just 8 girls per instructor—guaranteed—for the most personalized instruction. Girls learn engineering principles, code games, design websites, model 3D characters, snap photos, create films, print 3D objects, and much more.
Alexa Café is held at prestigious campuses nationwide, including Marymount High School in Los Angeles, UC Berkeley, and more. In addition to this all-girls summer program, iD Tech also offers weeklong camps for kids and teens, early-education STEM programs, teen-only academies, and an online learning platform.
iD Tech is located on the UCLA campus and Alexa Café is at Marymount High School. Other Southern California locations include LMU, Caltech, UC Irvine, Cal Lutheran, and Cal Poly Pomona.
