LAUSD Choices Magnet Application Explained

The Los Angeles Unified School District’s Choices Magnet application period is open and closes on November 13 at 5 p.m. Navigating the magnet world can be daunting. There are 210 magnets in the district that cover specialized subjects like performing arts, STEM, government studies, and biological sciences (a.k.a. the zoo magnet).

We have gone through the process ourselves and it’s complicated if you’re applying for the first time. We talked to magnet school guru Tanya Anton of the Go Mama Guide in the MomsLA Podcast about what parents need to know about LAUSD magnets, how to fill out the application, and how to increase the chances of getting the school you want. (If you like the podcast, please rate us on itunes. Thanks!)

We also did a video a couple of years ago that explains the process. The information is the same, but the dates are old.
