If your summer plans include “more sunsets, less screen time,” 2ND & PCH has you covered—and it won’t cost you a dime (unless you wander into one of the boutiques, in which case, we can’t help you).
The marina-front shopping center is rolling out a full slate of free events this summer—live music, movie nights, and kids’ programming that’s charmingly chaotic in all the best ways. It’s a whole vibe, and one that feels more like a warm-weather block party than your typical mall event calendar.

Let’s start with the Beachside Beats Fest: high-energy outdoor concerts on Seaport Way that celebrate everything from Juneteenth with Motown soul (Seville Band, June 19) to a full-throttle Prince tribute (The Purple Generation, August 14). If you’re more into breezy date-night jams than big-stage boogie, the Beachside Beats Vibes series at the Grand Staircase promises more intimate sets—think Yacht Rock on July 31 or RnB on August 21. Either way, you’re not paying a cover charge.
But it’s not all for the grown-ups. The PCH Explorer Kids Club returns with weekly Tuesday (and the occasional Wednesday) morning programming that includes a magic show, a Dino Day, a Luau with costumed characters, and even a kids’ Nike fitness club. It’s all free, and it just might wear them out by nap time—if you time it right.
And speaking of winding down, Movies & Moonlight is back too. Grab a blanket, bring your dog, and claim your turf early—these outdoor movie nights start at 6:00 p.m. and feature crowd-pleasers like The Goofy Movie and Moana 2. No gate, no ticket, no problem.

Is it a marketing play for the center’s shops and restaurants? Of course. But it’s also one of the more genuine attempts to turn a retail center into a real community hangout. Fire pits, Wi-Fi, lush landscaping, and enough events to keep kids entertained well into back-to-school season? We’ll take it.
Summer at 2ND & PCH: good vibes, no charge, and absolutely worth the parking search.
