Moms Helping Moms This Mother’s Day

Often when we think of Mother’s Day we think of flowers, chocolate and handmade cards. This Mother’s Day we want to challenge you to think about helping other moms. The Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House is asking for donations to help parents staying at the facility while their children undergo treatment for serious illnesses.

Families staying at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald house need:

  • diapers
  • baby wipes
  • baby powder
  • body moisturizer
  • shampoo and conditioner

You can purchase these items and drop them off at theLos Angeles Ronald McDonald House at 1250 N. Lyman Place, Los Angeles, CA 90029.

Families can also donate supplies by purchasing items off of the Ronald McDonald House Los Angeles Mother’s Day Amazon Wish List and have them sent directly to the House.

The Ronald McDonald House accommodates 75 families each night and continues to serve as a “home away from home” for hundreds each year. Since the house opened in 1980, it has helped 35,000 families who have children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles.

Its mission is to provide comfort and care to children and families. There’s the misconception that McDonald fully funds the Ronald McDonald houses throughout the country. In reality, while McDonald’s is the nonprofit’s largest corporate sponsor, Ronald McDonald House still needs donations from the community.

Ronald McDonald House has fundraisers throughout the year including an Annual Walk for Kids. If you’d like to  learn more about the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House, read our profile on MomsLA.  visit the website. If you’re interested in helping out Ronald McDonald House in other ways,
