Ruby’s Rockets Review & Giveaway

Ruby's Rockets

The New Year always makes me want to get healthier, especially after the excess of sweets I always seem to have over the holidays, and this year is no exception. Still, it’s always nice to have a treat every once in a while, and if it can be a healthy treat, so much the better.

Ruby's Rockets

MomsLA recently got to sample a terrific healthy treat: Ruby’s Rockets frozen fruit and veggie pops donated tons of popsicles to our recent Holiday Party and for that we are truly grateful. All the Mom Bloggers and their kids who attended also got to try them. And we are doing a giveaway – so scroll down for the details!

Created by Hollywood actress and mom, Wendy Makkena, and her 13-year-old daughter, Ruby, these popsicles are:

Low in sugar (only 2 grams, nothing added), only 35 calories each, Gluten Free, GMO Free and Non Dairy. Each pop contains ¼ of a cup of fruit and ¼ of a cup of vegetables. Ruby’s Rockets are available locally at Gelson’s Markets and retail for $5.99 for a box of 6. They come in these three flavors:

Galaxy Green – kiwi, spinach, and avocado

Rock-It Red – sweet potatoes, strawberries, carrots, and beets

Orbit Orange – oranges, sweet potatoes, and carrots

What’s great is that these popsicles are not too sweet, which is right up my alley. The Rock-It Red has just enough sweetness from the strawberries and beets to make me feel like I’m getting a treat, even though I know it’s not filled with added sugar. Ditto for the Orbit Orange ones, which get a nice boost from, of course, oranges. The Galaxy Green popsicles are actually like eating something substantial, thanks to the avocado and spinach, no doubt.

We also love that our friend Ashley Koff, RD has Ruby’s Rockets on her Ashley Koff Approved list!

My 2 1/2 year-old daughter, Regan, loves sweet potatoes and I think these frozen pops would be a great way to surprise her with her favorite treat! Hope we win!

As a family we knew we needed to eat and be healthier. We have been changing our diet and making adjustments. There are still some things my son will not eat & he LOVES popsicles. I know this would definitely help out, and hopefully open new doors for my son to try new foods. Thank you for the chance!
