3 Reasons to Visit Phoenix This Summer + Giveaway

Play time at the pool - Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass

Phoenix, Arizona is a great place to visit, especially with your family, and we’ve got three reasons you should consider it a great destination for Family Travel, even in the Summer.

1. Water

Sure, it’s hot in Phoenix, so what else is new? But to counteract the heat, Phoenix has plenty of what we in California are lacking right now: water. And you can find it everywhere, like in the pools, spritzing golfers as they play 9 holes, and of course, in the lazy rivers, one of the greatest inventions of the modern age.

Phoenix is well-known for its water features, including these amazing ones: AquaMermaid School at the Phoenician, a 92-foot waterslide at the Arizona Biltmore, the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort’s Four Acres of Water Park with ½ mile long lazy river, the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch with 10 pools and a three-story waterslide, or the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess with its brand new Sunset Beach sandy beach pool.

So even though Summer in the desert is quite hot, hanging out in one of the many pools or lazy rivers in Phoenix is one fun way to beat it.

2. Bargains

Where (and when) else can you stay at a fabulous resort for a fraction of the normal price? Hotels and resorts in Phoenix make it easy to come visit by offering fantastic bargains at this time of year. Not only are the room prices lower, in many cases there are terrific extras thrown in.

The Arizona Biltmore’s Summer All-Inclusive package of $215 includes breakfast lunch and dinner, the Carefree Resort & Conference Center offers a third night free when booking two, the Hotel Valley Ho’s Stay2Play package costs $149 and includes a $50 daily resort credit, welcome drinks, upgraded Internet, and a gift upon arrival, or the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort’s All-Suite accommodations that start at $109 – and that’s just a sampling.

So even though you’ll be sweating through your shirt, you won’t be burning through your cash.
