Reindeer Romp returns to the L.A. Zoo on Friday, November 17th through January 7th, 2018 (from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day). This fun annual tradition gives families the chance to see real reindeer and learn about these festive creatures. On weekends, there is even more fun including antler crafts, reindeer keeper talks, photo opportunities with Santa (these require an additional fee), and more. Admission is $21 for those ages 13-61, $ 18 for those 62 and older, $16 for children ages 2-12, and free for children younger than 2.

A Whistling White House Wonderland – Holiday Exhibit at Richard Nixon Presidential Library

After a three-year hiatus, vintage model trains will fill the Nixon Library once again for the holidays with A Whistling White House Wonderland. The display will be unveiled with a free celebration on November 20 at 10 AM. The festive 24-foot wide exhibition will feature classic model trains of Christmas past – plus Thomas the Tank Engine – whistling over bridges and passing through tunnels of a 10-foot tall snow-capped mountain carefully handcrafted by the Train Collectors Association. The showcase reflects President Nixon’s love of trains that began with his childhood in Yorba Linda. Special Candlelight Evenings will celebrate First Lady Pat Nixon's love of Christmas and the holiday traditions she inspired at the White House Every Wednesday evening from November 29 through December 27, the Nixon Library will open its doors after hours for photos with Santa, cookies, cocoa and coffee, live musical entertainment in the magnificent White House East Room and opportunities to explore the Nixon Library’s new award-winning museum galleries. A Whistling White House Wonderland is open daily from November 20 through January 7.

Holiday Treats for the Animals

Celebrate the holidays with the marine animals at the Aquarium of the Pacific. This special event begins Saturday, December 2nd and continues through December 24th. Families are in for a lot of special treats including holiday music, a display of gingerbread houses, a snow play area, a scuba-diving Santa, costumed characters, a holiday menu offered in Cafe Scuba, and more. On weekends, the Aquarium will also have a snow play area, photos with Santa, children’s crafts, Hanukkah storytelling, and much more.You can also participate in the Aquarium’s toy drive, by bringing in a new unwrapped toy, benefitting the Long Beach Fire Department Spark of Love Toy Drive. Kids On Stage 2017 Fall Play Festival

The 2017 Kids On Stage Players are in rehearsals for their adaptations of Oliver Twist. The story, set in London, follows an orphan boy who falls in with a group of pick-pockets. Classes with students ages 4-17 have been working since September to showcase the story's classic characters, sing-along songs and engaging scenes. CASA 0101 Theater and TNH Productions in association with LA Councilmember Gil Cedillo are proud to present Disney's Beauty and the Beast. This classic story follows Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
