Camp Wildfolk is a fun, modern twist on traditional Day Camp, with a growth-centered and project-based approach. All Campers go on a Beach Field trip the 1st Wednesday of each 2-week Session and our oldest campers (Ages 8+ & GITs)  go on an Adventure Field Trip (to places like Knott’s & Hurricane Harbor) the 2nd Wednesday of each Session.

Four Spheres of Fun: 1. Movement & Teambuilding, 2. Creativity & Expression, 3. Innovation & Exploration, and 4. Group Projects

Biocitizen LA gets your child “off the screen and into the green”!

Biocitizen LA – School of Field Environmental Philosophy  – Our Place Summer School 2017 June-August

Our Place Summer School is designed to “unplug” your child by bringing them into direct contact with “Our Place” , the natural and urban environment of the Los Angeles River Basin Biome. We provide experiential learning for ages 6-14, via Field Environmental Philosophy (FEP). FEP is simply the practice of inquiry based learning while we walk!

Our weekly sessions consist of five, six-hour days in which we roam multiple outdoor classrooms all over LA; on a treasure hunt in pursuit of natural and cultural signs and stories. These activities are fun and they’re designed to increase student’s perceptual abilities; stimulate their critical thinking skills; inspire their creative imaginations, and counteract “nature deficit disorder.” Through active physical and mental engagement with “our place,” they gain a deep & lasting appreciation of LA—and of themselves.

**This summer we are happy to announce that will be learning about tree care with TreePeople and hope to be kayaking on the LA River!

Steve & Kate’s Camp

Type: Arts & Crafts, Creative, Day Camp

Description:

Kids come into this world brimming with curiosity, wonder and creative potential. Unfortunately, we often squash that potential by telling kids what to do, and what to learn.

At Steve & Kate’s, we believe that when you trust kids, they develop the confidence to trust themselves, and learn to use their own judgment. So we built a summer camp that puts kids in charge. Because unlike traditional schools, summer gives us the freedom to reinvent learning in a way that allows kids to make their own choices – and, of course, a few mistakes along the way.

Driven by this belief, we’ve built our summer camp to put kids in the driver’s seat of a world of possibilities. So whether your child is a natural-born storyteller with a love for animation, or a budding chef, or a hacker-in-training, or a dance machine, they can dive into their passions in a world free from adult judgments and expectations.

After 37 years, we are still obsessed with reinventing every summer. Because if we’ve learned one thing, it’s that when you think like a child, anything is possible.

Tumbleweed Day Camp

Type: Day Camp

Description:

When you think of camp, you might imagine big green fields. You might smell fresh air and the faintest perfume of sunscreen. You would hear children laughing and camp songs filling the air. You might think of the touch of friendship bracelets or a horse’s mane. When you close your eyes and imagine the perfect summer camp, you see an ageless tradition of childhood summers. You don’t need to imagine such a place – Tumbleweed is that place. Our days at Tumbleweed are filled with making new friends, exploring nature, trying new things, doing what makes us happy… Experiencing summer at its finest! At Tumbleweed, we focus more on growth and learning than just on doing activities. Having excellent counselors, programs, and resources is a give-in. The experience at Tumbleweed goes far beyond the tangible things we offer. We teach social intelligence, self-control, gratitude, grit, curiosity, optimism, and zest. Campers leave with life-long friends and memories.

You want the best for your child, and so do we. Give them the best camp experience available and register today for a summer at Tumbleweed Day Camp.

Perfect for campers entering PK through 8th grade. Summer dates from June 19 through August 18th. After camp swim and horseback riding lessons offered. Tumbleweed Day Camp is proudly accredited by the American Camp Association.

Open House Dates: 3/5, 3/12, 3/26, 4/9

YPG Music Technology Songwriting Camp

Type: Music, Tech

Description:

The YPG Music Technology Songwriting Camp is the first of its kind. Young people ages 7-11 who love music will come together at a beautiful studio in Culver City to write original music, explore music technology, play music games, and have fun in a creative environment. Under the guidance of expert producers, campers will develop their creative confidence as they write music and play with synthesizers, DJ decks, and drum machines. Even though campers might be entering with no musical experience at all, they will leave with an EP of original music at the end of the session!
