Things To Do in Los Angeles with Kids June 26-28, 2026

Your family will find plenty of fun things to do this weekend! Watch a World Cup match, play in DTLA at the Broad Museum, catch a movie outdoors, or a lovely concert under the stars!

The Hammer Museum presents live World Cup Watch Parties for the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup.
Join other fans in an indoor/outdoor venue where art and sport collide to watch the games on giant screens. Between matches, explore our free exhibitions, shop the store, participate in family art-making activities, or grab a bite at LULU in the museum’s courtyard.

Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. Doors will open one hour before the first match.

Friday Movie Nights: Mamma Mia!
Ovation Hollywood – Level 3 Terrace

Ovation Hollywood is hosting “Friday Movie Nights,” on Friday, June 26th. On the last Friday of the month (through September), Ovation Hollywood transforms its outdoor space into a “premier open-air cinema.” Upon check-in, visitors will receive a complimentary blanket to “keep you cozy during the screening,” as well as a voucher for a complimentary small popcorn and 25% off additional concession stand items. Check-in begins at 5:00 pm, and the movie starts at 7:00 pm. On Friday, June 26th, the movie of the evening is Mamma Mia! (Rated PG-13) RSVP online for this free event. 

Summer Movies in the Park: How to Train Your Dragon

The City of Santa Ana invites families to enjoy a Summer Movie in the Park on Friday, June 26th (and select Friday evenings this summer through July 24th). The fun begins at 6:30 pm with themed crafts for kids, games, and complimentary popcorn (while supplies last). The movie begins at dusk. Each week features a different movie at a different park. On June 26th, spread out your picnic blanket or get comfy in your beach chairs, and settle in for a screening of How to Train Your Dragon (rated PG).

Family Field Day: Come Play Multiform
The Broad Museum, 221 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles 90012

Family Field Day at the Broad Museum: it’s free, it’s outdoors, and it’s fun! Happening June 27 + 28 from 1-5pm on the Plaza at the Broad Museum in DTLA. Field day takes place on the Plaza next to the museum and you’re also welcome to check out the third floor galleries filled with their permanent collection. There’s a guided warm-up, luchadores to make it super fun, and then there’s a brand-new game called Multiform, invented by artist Gabriel Fontana, that’s easy and fun to play, for all ages.

Step into a world where light and dance intertwine in this breathtaking retelling of Sleeping Beauty. As dancers glide across the stage, their illuminated costumes create a dazzling display of color and light, making every twirl and leap feel otherworldly. This isn’t just a ballet show—it’s a magical experience that brings a beloved classic to life in a way you’ve never seen before. For ages 5 and up.

Beach Movie Nights: The LEGO Movie

Enjoy a free screening of The LEGO Movie (rated PG) “on the sand, by the waves, and under the stars” on Friday, June 26th at 8:00 pm. No tickets are required, but be sure to RSVP so you can be notified of any last-minute changes. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. (Parking is $3 after 6 pm.) Be sure to bundle up. (Each Friday evening, through August 28th, the Department of Beaches and Harbors will host this weekly Beach Movie Nights series.)

Summer Concerts on the Green

The City of Cypress invites families to its Summer Concerts on the Green series, continuing on Friday, June 26th at 6:00 pm. “Pack your picnic baskets, grab your lawn chairs, and settle in for an unforgettable summer of live music under the stars at our Summer Concerts on the Green.” On the 26th, ACME Time Machine will be performing. “ACME Time Machine is a retro rock ‘n’ roll band bringing the hits of the ’50s and ’60s to life. Covering legends like Elvis Presley and The Beatles, they deliver a nostalgic, feel-good experience for all ages.” A food truck will be on-site. 7/3, 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31 8/7

Bridge the Gap Tennis FREE Fun Family Tennis Day!

Independence Day Celebration

The City of Monterey Park is hosting an Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, June 27th from 4:00 pm to 9:30 pm. This free community event will feature live musical entertainment, on-site food trucks, and a dazzling fireworks show at 9:00 pm. Be sure to check the website for information regarding street closures near the event. 

Dungeons and Dragons for Teens

Cinespia invites families to an outdoor screening of Legally Blonde on Saturday, June 27th. Gates open at 7:15 pm, and the movie starts at 9:00 pm. “Practice that bend and snap, because the perfect day awaits, all in celebration of Elle, the new Prime Video Legally Blonde prequel, set to premiere on July 1st.” Tickets are available online. (The movie is rated PG-13.)

Family Night Hike: Sensory Science

Step into a world of sensory exploration as we venture through the garden on a family-friendly night hike! Saturday, June 27, 5:30-7 PM.

CicLAvia – Leimert Park meets Expo Park 
3.6 miles along Crenshaw & MLKing Jr. Blvd.

The 66th Los Angeles Open Streets Event: CicLAvia – Leimert Park meets Expo Park is happening on Sunday, June 28th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is an all-ages and all-abilities event. Participants may jog, ride, bike, skate, or walk as they explore along the route. Remember, this is not a race; families may enter and exit the route when and where it’s most convenient for them. Details are available online.

The Last Dance at La Brea Tar Pits

LACMA Family Tours

Join a LACMA docent for a 30-minute, interactive family tour of outdoor sculptures and highlights from our Modern Art Galleries. These tours meet outdoors on the Resnick Terrace. Sunday, June 28, 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
