Brick or Treat at Legoland California

LEGOLAND® California Resort has expanded its family-friendly Halloween event, Brick or Treat, with the debut of Brick or Treat Street – an all-new immersive walkthrough experience featuring six Halloween houses filled with mischief, treats, tricks, and LEGO® build inspired seasonal fun for the whole family. Family-friendly Halloween fun, all included with general admission.

The City of Malibu is hosting Bu Bash Halloween Spooktacular on Friday, October 23rd from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The fun will include arts and crafts, carnival games, bounce houses, spooky stories, and on-site food trucks. Pre-registration is required. This event is designed for children ages 2-10.

The City of El Segundo invites families to its Boo Bucket Bonfire event happening on October 23rd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. “Get into the Halloween spirit with candy bucket painting, s’mores, sweet treats, and a showing of Hotel Transylvania by the bonfire. Bring blankets and chairs to get comfortable for the movie!” This is an all-ages event. Costumes are encouraged.

Blocktoberfest at Maple Block Meat Co.

What are you doing this Sunday, October 25, 2026, from12 PM–4 PM? Maple Block Meat Co. celebrates its 11th Annual BlocktoberFest with an afternoon of BBQ, craft beer, music and family-friendly fall festivities (like cornhole tournament, raffle prizes, family games and pumpkin decorating) at their Culver City location. Activities include trick-or-treating throughout the Aquarium (goodie bags will be provided), kids’ activity booths, vampire magician shows, dancing to the DJ’s monster mash-ups, fun photo stations, and more. DroneArt Show: Space Chase

On November 6th & 7th, DroneArt Show: Space Chase will transform the sky above Los Angeles into a cosmic stage where 1,200 illuminated drones move in synchronized formations, bringing a cinematic story to life set to a dynamic soundtrack spanning classical, cinematic, and contemporary music.

Families are invited to attend a free, outdoor screening of Hocus Pocus on Friday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm. Complimentary popcorn will be provided (while supplies last). Trick-or-Treat in the Garden and

The Arboretum is hosting two special seasonal events this weekend. “Dress up your little ghosts, goblins, and garden creatures and join us for a Halloween adventure through the garden! Follow the trick-or-treat trail to discover the spookier side of nature, stopping along the way to learn fascinating facts about plants and collect nature-based treats and surprises.” Kiddos will have the chance to visit interactive Discovery Tables as they stroll through the Garden. Each registered child will receive a bag for collecting treats. (Note – treats are not traditional Halloween candy.) Guests must bring flashlights. Trick-or-Treating will take place on Friday, October 23rd, with timed entry available every 30 minutes between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Pre-registration is required. 
And, on Sunday, October 25th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, The Arboretum is hosting its first ever Día de los Muertos celebration. “As twilight falls, our garden transforms into a luminous celebration of remembrance through art, music, botanical landscapes, and reflection.” The event will feature a community altar, music, a marketplace, hands-on crafts for children, face painting (available for purchase), and more. Bluey’s Big Play

“Bluey’s Big Play is a theatrical adaptation of the Emmy® award- winning children’s television series. When Dad feels like a little bit of time out, Bluey and Bingo have other plans! Join them as they pull out all of the games and cleverness at their disposal to get Dad off that bean bag.” Expect a 50-minute show, with no intermission. Recommended for families with children 2 and older. Winnie-the-Pooh Read-Aloud Marathon

“In celebration of Central 100 and Winnie-the-Pooh’s 100th anniversary,” Sun Valley Branch Library is hosting a Winnie-the-Pooh Read-Aloud Marathon on Saturday, October 24th from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. “We’ll begin reading at 9:30 am on Saturday and read until we’re finished. The first 10 people who come and read will receive a free anniversary copy of Winnie-the-Pooh.” This is an all-ages event. 

Community Open House
La Habra Blvd. (Between Euclid St. & Cypress St.), La Habra, CA

The City of La Habra presents its Community Open House event on Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The family-friendly event will include three large inflatables, a haunted jail tour, trunk-or-treating with a variety of La Habra Police vehicles, carnival games, costume contest, performances by local schools and community groups, and more. A Costume Contest and Parade will take place at 12:00 pm. Check the website for details.

Halloween Zoo-tacular at the OC Zoo

Halloween Zoo-tacular at the OC Zoo takes place on Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Enjoy lots of Halloween fun including trick-or-treating, crafts for kids, and a scavenger hunt. (Activities are intended for children 12 and younger.) Plus, families can see zoo animals receiving “treat-filled pumpkins throughout the day.” Reservations are not needed. Activities are included with general Zoo admission. ($2 per person, free for children 2 and younger, parking is $5.)

Water Harvest

Visit the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility on Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for the 2026 Water Harvest. The free, family-friendly community event will feature “interactive activities, entertainment and educational experiences that connect the science of space with the science of water sustainability.” There will be giveaways, space-themed activities, live music, a kids’ costume contest with prizes, tours of the Water Recycling Facility, and more. RSVP is not required.

Family Fun Day: Mini Pumpkin Patch and Spooky Cartoon Shorts

The Autry invites families to its special event, Family Fun Day: Mini Pumpkin Patch and Spooky Cartoon Shorts, happening on Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Many fun activities are planned including pumpkin-themed crafts, decorating real pumpkins, watching spooky cartoons in the theater (popcorn included), and exploring the Museum’s galleries with a special scavenger hunt. The City of San Fernando is holding its Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival on Saturday, October 24th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Festivities include Altar (Ofrenda) Displays, artisan and food vendors, arts and crafts, live performances, and more.

The Getty Villa is hosting two family-friendly, drop-in activities on Saturday, October 24th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. “Join artist Andrés Cortes for live mosaic-making demonstrations. Meet the artist, ask questions, and discover different materials and techniques for constructing mosaics.”
Also on Saturday, families are invited to create their own “mosaic inspired by animals who call Los Angeles home, using contemporary materials and ancient Roman techniques.” (Both events are presented in English and Spanish.) Family programs are free, and do not require a ticket. However, the Villa requires a timed-entry reservation and there is a fee for parking.

All Abilities Celebration and
Symphony Spooktacular

Segerstrom Center for the Arts is hosting two special events on Saturday, October 24th. The All Abilities Celebration is happening from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. “This free, family-friendly afternoon brings together artists and organizations from across our community for an energetic day of live performances, interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and more. Experience performances by local artists with disabilities, discover new ways to get creative, and connect with arts and disability organizations at our resource and activity fair.” This is an all-ages event. And at 11:30 am, Pacific Symphony presents Symphony Spooktacular, a festive Halloween celebration. “This family-friendly concert features playful, spooky orchestral favorites that capture the magic and imagination of the season.” Costumes are encouraged. Plus, there will be “Halloween-themed activities in the concert hall lobby, including hands-on games, coloring stations, and festive photo opportunities for kids and families” after the show at 12:15 pm. (The performance is recommended for families with children 5 and older.) Details and tickets are available online. 

Grand Ave Arts: All Access

Grand Ave Arts: All Access is happening on Saturday, October 24th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. During this special time, “arts and cultural institutions along Grand Avenue open their doors to visitors of all ages for a day of free workshops, performances, tours, and interactive events. Explore art, music, dance, literature, art-making and more. Special Screening: Hotel Transylvania

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is hosting a special screening of Hotel Transylvania on Saturday, October 24th at 11:00 am. “A hapless young backpacker (voiced by Andy Samberg) stumbles upon an Eastern European resort and falls for the owner’s daughter (Selena Gomez), unaware that he’s discovered a hotel for monsters and that his prospective father-in-law is Dracula himself.” The voice actors also include Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, and David Spade. Plus, Sony Pictures Animation Director Alan Hawkins will be attending the screening. The animated movie has a runtime of 91 minutes and is rated PG. Details and tickets are available online. The Angeles Symphony Orchestra will be at the Buena Vista Branch Library on Saturday, October 24th from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm for a special family performance of Peter and the Wolf. “Led by Maestro James Yongjae Kim and featuring live narration, this engaging 30-minute concert introduces children and families to the instruments of the orchestra through one of classical music’s most imaginative and enduring stories.” This is a free event.

Lucha Libre Masks (Mascaras) for Families

“Discover the art, history, and power of the mask” at Westwood Branch Library on Saturday, October 24th from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Ovation Hollywood is hosting a Spooktacular Boo Bash on Saturday, October 24th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Festivities include trick-or-treating, live entertainment, carnival fun, as well as magic, crafts, face painting, and more – all from 3 pm to 6 pm. There will be a Costume Contest as well, with prizes for different categories. Then at 6:00 pm, settle in for a free, outdoor screening of Coraline. “To keep you cozy and happy during the movie, we’ll be hosting a second check-in and will be handing out cozy blankets, a sweet treat from Wolfgang Puck Catering, and a popcorn voucher to the TCL 6-Plex Theatres.” RSVP online. Monster Mash: A Halloween Puppet Show

And on Sunday, October 25th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Barney Saltzberg will be leading A Not So Scary Story fun fest with art, story, and music. Japan Family Day is happening at Santa Anita Park this weekend on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. The Festival is “one of the most popular Japanese family festivals in Southern California.” The festivities include traditional cultural performances, food vendors, artisan vendors, Japanese pop culture (including anime and a cosplay contest), games and activities for kiddos, and more. Fall Fantastic Harvest Festival

Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market is hosting its Fall Fantastic Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 25th from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Dress up in your costume so you can participate in the Halloween Costume Parade! There will also be a Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest, face painting, arts and crafts, storytelling, and more including all the usual Farmers’ Market fun (including fresh produce, specialty items, and petting zoo.)

The 7th Annual Halloween Bash is happening at RUNWAY on Sunday, October 25th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The fun includes crafts for kids, a petting zoo, and photo booth. Plus, many RUNWAY businesses will be participating in trick-or-treating from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. The Candy Coach Experience is also available but will require a separate ticket. LA Soundscapes Family Concerts: DrumatiX: Rhythm, Redefined!

The Ford is hosting an LA Soundscapes Family Concert featuring DrumatiX: Rhythm, Redefined! on Sunday, October 25th at 11:30 am. “DrumatiX brings an interactive, high-energy performance that transforms recycled and found objects into rhythmic and musical soundscapes. Using tap dance, body percussion, drumming, humor, and inventive choreography, this family-friendly show celebrates creativity, sustainability, and the joy of making something new from what already exists.” Plus, be sure to arrive early to take advantage of the pre-concert interactive art activities starting at 10:00 am. This event is recommended for children ages 3-11. Details and tickets are available online. (Note – get up to 2 free tickets for children 12 and younger with every full-priced ticket purchase.)

Celebrating Diwali

The LA Central Library is Celebrating Diwali on Sunday, October  25th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The free, community celebration will include hands-on crafts, authors, live performances, and more. “Experience Diwali through stories of family, tradition, adventure and light. Explore books for children, teens, and adults, including titles by authors featured at this year’s festival.” A schedule of the day’s events is available online.

Culver City 2026 Hip & Historic Halloween

The Culver City 2026 Hip & Historic Halloween is happening on Sunday, October 25th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This free, family-friendly event is a great way to enjoy the neighborhood. Put on your Halloween costumes, stroll through Downtown, and get treats from participating businesses. Many Downtown restaurants will be offering dinner specials. (Participating businesses will display a “Boo Crew” sign in their storefront.) Check the website for details. 

Halloween Family Fun Ride
Meeting at Village Well Books & Coffee

Families are invited to participate in the Halloween Family Fun Ride event taking place on Sunday, October 25th. This family-friendly event will give families a special way to “explore the best Halloween decor of Culver City.” Plus, families will have the chance to explore new routes in Culver City. The ride is about 5 miles long, on city streets and bike paths. All ages are welcome to participate. “Parents with kids on trikes and training wheel riders must be on tag-a-long, trailers, or cargo bikes.” Check in begins at 5:30 pm, and the ride will take place from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, with participants meeting at Village Well. Registration is free. Helmets are required for all riders.  

Día de los Muertos Festival

Olvera Street is celebrating Día de los Muertos over the course of nine days — Sunday, October 25th through Monday, November 2nd. The free event “merges ancient traditions with modern-day interpretations” and includes community altars, live entertainment, a nightly procession, face painting, and more. Check the website for a schedule of each day’s events.
