Take Aim: 19 Archery Ranges in Los Angeles and SoCal 2024

Updated for 2024

Whether your child was introduced to archery through The Hunger Games or the animated film Brave or something else entirely, archery is growing in popularity. Here in Los Angeles, you’ll find many archery ranges open to the public, and many groups offering all levels of instruction and practice.

Archery is a sport that combines precision, focus, and history, and is one of the sports in the modern Olympic Games, which are coming to Los Angeles in 2028.

Archery made its Olympic debut at the Paris Games in 1900, but it wasn’t until 1972 that it regained a permanent spot in the program. Today, Olympic archery consists of four main events: individual and team competitions for both men and women.

The nice thing about archery here in Los Angeles is that kids can practice year-round, with many ranges in outdoor settings. Most ranges also offer safety and skills training, which is crucial when it comes to this sport.

Archery equipment and gear can vary between beginner-level and inexpensive, to high-tech, pro gear that can be quite pricey. We’ve seen kids start out with nice basic sets of bows, arrows, and hand protection and do just fine.

And when it feels like it’s getting harder and harder to find something the whole family can do, archery is a sport the whole family can learn and enjoy!
