Hotel Amenities at the Jamaica Bay Inn
The hotel has many amenities including a terrific restaurant called Beachside, located on the main floor, a fitness center, a business center, a pool and jacuzzi, and multiple meeting rooms for hosting parties and get togethers.
Beachside restaurant is known for their American fare and the food is consistently delicious and well presented. The restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as weekend brunch, is also known for its picturesque setting overlooking Mother’s Beach.

It’s a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the view, along with a good meal. Plus, the staff are attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and very personable. Service is excellent.
They are well known for their Happy Hour and weekend brunch (which can get crowded), so it’s best to plan ahead. But if you are dining on a weekday you should have a good chance of getting a table.
The fitness center is well-stocked with equipment, all in good working order, and you can choose to lift free weights, use a machine, get on the Peloton, or use a treadmill.

While it might seem like a pool would be unnecessary when you’re on a beach, we all know that the Pacific Ocean can be chilly sometimes, which is when jumping in the pool is a nice option. And the jacuzzi speaks for itself.
The hotel is very quiet and safe and staff report having worked at the property for years, which we take to be a very good sign. Service is attentive and helpful, and the staff is very knowledgeable about the local area and able to help.

The Renovation
The thoughtfully updated guest rooms at Jamaica Bay Inn include new wall coverings, carpet, paint, drapery, lighting, art and wall decor, mattresses, bedding, and televisions. All bathrooms and hotel corridors were also fully transformed.

Nearby Activities
The hotel is situated right on Mother’s Beach in Marina del Rey which means there are lovely views from the Marina-view rooms, or from sitting out on the lawn or at the restaurant.
You can watch yachts come and go, you can watch Outrigger canoe paddlers as they set off on their workouts, intrepid kayakers as well as beginners, and you might even see some sea lions.

Being located in Marina del Rey means that you’ll be close to many family-friendly activities, like trying out kayaking or stand up paddleboarding right there at Mother’s Beach if you want. Or you just chill and let the kids play in the sand or on the huge beach play structure.
You can also get mobile and walk the short distance down to Venice beach, where you can walk along the boardwalk or go swimming in the Pacific Ocean.
The hotel also plans activities you might enjoy, like live music several nights a week on the patio at Beachside restaurant, and Summer Outdoor Movies that are free to attend, even if you’re not a hotel guest.
Nearby Restaurants
You’re also close to many restaurants right in the Marina or in Venice so it’s easy to spend several days and not have the same activities to do every day or find multiple activities to do every day. Not to mention find multiple places to dine.

A Recent Stay
MomsLA was hosted for an overnight stay at the Jamaica Bay Inn so that we could experience the renovations firsthand. It was delightful and comfortable. It was a King room with a Marina view. Everything in the room was clean and seemed brand new.
The beautifully-upholstered furniture and stylish cabinetry helped to create a very comfortable atmosphere, and made it very enjoyable to spend time in the room.
There was tasteful lighting in the room as well, so it felt bright enough to read at night, but not so bright you wanted to turn the lights off to shield your eyes.

Our room came with a coffee maker and mini-fridge, and there’s also a safe and ironing board if you should need those things. And while there’s no mini bar per se, there were bottles of water available for purchase in the room. Of course, like any hotel room there was a clock radio alarm and cable TV.
One of the nice bonuses to the room was the big balcony with two chairs for enjoying your morning coffee or just sitting and reading. It’s a great place to take the family.
