Spring Fling 2020

Celebrate spring and Easter at the L.A. Zoo’s annual Spring Fling event beginning March 21st and continuing through April 19th. In addition, Big Bunny will be visiting during two weekends in April: April 4-5 and April 10, 11, 12. Activities include crafts, honey tasting (for an additional fee), special animal feedings, and much more. Check the website for details and a schedule of events. 
 

Blessing of the Animals

The Blessing of the Animals is an annual tradition that has been celebrated here since 1930. On the Saturday before Easter (April 11th) from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, families are invited to bring their pets to be blessed. In addition there will be live musical entertainment, a petting zoo, pony rides, food, and fun.

Celebrate Easter Sunday on a Hornblower Cruise. On Sunday, April 12th, they are offering brunch cruises at different times including an early brunch boarding at 10:00 am, a mid-day brunch boarding at 10:30 am, a late brunch boarding at 2:30 pm, and their latest brunch boarding at 3:00 pm. Brunch cruises are 2 hours in length and include live entertainment, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, and views of the Marina del Rey Harbor. Easter Springtime Festival

Underwood Family Farms hosts its annual Easter Springtime Festival beginning on Saturday, March 21st and continuing until Monday, April 13th. The Festival includes many fun activities including a tractor-drawn wagon ride, lots of fun photo opportunities, a giant haystack, games and races, and much more. Certain activities (such as pony rides, face painting, and the moon bounce) require additional tickets. Certain shows only happen on the weekends as well. Festival Hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily. Weekday admission is $8, weekend admission is $12. Children under 2 are free.

Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden

The L.A. Arboretum invites families to its Egg-ceptional Celebration on Saturday, April 11th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Children 10 and younger can participate in egg hunts (with baskets being provided). There will also be make-and-take activities, refreshments, an egg scramble, and more. Cost is $5 per child plus admission to the Arboretum.

Malibu Bluffs Park is the site of a Spring Festival taking place on Friday, March 27th from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. This special event features lots of fun including games, bounce houses, egg hunts, art activities, educational booths, food trucks, and more. (A play pass is $5.)

The city of Simi Valley hosts its annual egg hunt on Saturday, April 11th at 9:00 am. This free event is designed for children 10 and younger. Children will be grouped by age to search for the eggs. Don’t forget to bring a basket from home. Families are also encouraged to bring a canned or non-perishable food item to donate to benefit The Samaritan Center of Simi Valley.

Egg Scramble and Festival

Head to Mae Boyar Park on Saturday, April 11th for a fun-filled egg scramble. The fun starts at 9:30 am with egg hunts designed for children 10 and younger. Children will be grouped by age. There will also be an adult egg toss competition, arts and crafts vendors, carnival rides, and food until 2:00 pm. 

Breakfast with the Bunny

The City of Agoura Hills invites families to its Breakfast with the Bunny on Saturday, April 4th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Children will enjoy spring crafts, egg hunts, games, light breakfast refreshments, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. Admission is $2 per person and free for children younger than 2.

Kidspace Children’s Museum is hosting a special egg hunt on Saturday, April 4th and Saturday, April 11th. At different times on each day, children of different ages will search for hundreds of candy-filled plastic eggs. Families will also create spring art, learn the bunny hop, and much more. Don’t forget to bring your own basket from home. Pre-registration is required for all children and is available online. (Museum admission is not included in the egg hunt).

Children eight and younger are invited to the Bunny Trail Junior Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Eggs will be hidden along a trail and while children search, they’ll also enjoy face painting, crafts, a petting zoo, and time with the Easter Bunny. Cost is $3 per child. Tickets must be pre-purchased at Juan Bautista de Anza Park.

Celebrate Easter on a train! The Fillmore and Western Railway Company presents its Easter Lunch on Sunday, April 12th. The Easter Bunny will visit while families dine and enjoy the “scenic ride through Heritage Valley where the fragrance of orange and lemon blossoms are delightful.” Reservations are required. (Check the website for the menu). Adults are $50 each, children 4-12 are $29, children 2-3 are $25, and babies 23 months and younger are free.

The City of El Segundo is hosting its Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 11th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. The fun includes music, appearances from the Easter Bunny, and egg hunts.

From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, families can have fun at the Outdoor  Village featuring “Easter-themed arts and crafts, bunny petting zoo, sweet treats, lawn games, and more.” Then, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, children can participate in the Easter egg Hunt. Stop by the Guest Services booth to “pick up eggs, a list of participating retailers, and a map.” Both events are free, and no tickets are required.

On Sunday, March 29th from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, children can visit with Sensitive Bunny at the Westminster Mall. Families can enjoy a “sensory-friendly experience that welcomes guests with all types of special needs to enjoy an eggs-tra special morning with Bunny before regular center activities begin.”

The city of Gardena hosts its annual Breakfast with the easter Bunny and Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11th from 8:00 am to 11:30 am. Enjoy a special breakfast, entertainment, arts and crafts, an egg hunt, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny. Pre-sale tickets are $5; tickets are $7 on the day of the event. Tickets are available online.
