Thanksgiving dinner isn’t all about the turkey. As you plan your menu and are trying to decide on dessert, keep in mind that you don’t have to do it all yourself.

Here in Southern California, you’ll find many restaurants and bakeries with some of the best holiday pies around. Here is our list of the Best Pie Shops in Los Angeles. If we didn’t list your favorite, please let us know what it is in the comments. 

By the way, it’s not necessary to save Pie for the holidays. Feel free to enjoy it anytime you like!

The Best Pie Shops in Los Angeles

27th Street Bakery
2700 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90011

27th Street Bakery has been baking pies since 1956. Known for their southern desserts, many people come from all over L.A. for this bakery’s sweet potato pie (available in two different sizes). You’ll also find cakes, cobblers, and pecan pie available here to really round out your dessert table.

Atticus Creamery and Pies
10893 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064

All of the ice cream and pies at Atticus Creamery in West LA are  handmade from scratch and made fresh each day using carefully selected ingredients sourced from all around the globe and locally right from Los Angeles. Walk into the shop and buy an assortment of mini pies in a variety of flavors (including chocolate earl grey, lemon lavender, and salted caramel to name a few). Or, you can order a large pie for the holidays in special flavors such as apple butter crumble pie and bourbon walnut pie. You’ll also find an assortment of gluten free and vegan pies as well.

Cake Monkey Bakery

Cake Monkey Bakery has made many “top ten” and “best of” lists for their pies, cakes, and cookies. Pies include the popular Cider Roasted Apple Pie (rated a Critic’s Choice in the Los Angeles Times), the Chocolate Cake Pudding Pie, and the Brown Butter Pecan Pie (described as a “Thanksgiving classic”) to name a few. Be sure to check the website for special seasonal treats as well.

Cobblers Cakes & Kream

You may have a difficult time choosing from the option at Cobblers Cakes & Kream. Pies include the pecan pie, the sweet potato pie, and key lime pie. Cobblers are available in three different sizes and three different flavors. Check the website for ordering information. 

The Original Farmers Market
6333 W. 3rd St., Los Angeles, CA 90036

Du-pars has been baking its famous pies since 1938! You’ll find traditional favorites here such as pumpkin and cherry pie as well as boysenberry, blueberry, and peach. Many of their pies come in full and half sizes so you can experiment with several different flavors. 

Fat + Flour
17 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013

If you haven’t tried one of Fat + Flour’s pies before, the holidays may be the perfect time. Looking at their Instagram, may cause your stomach to grumble. Select from Key Lime Pie, Apple Crumble, and Pumpkin Pie. Order online

Four ‘n 20
Two locations including
4723 Laurel Canyon, Valley Village, CA

This neighborhood restaurant opened back in 1969, and its two locations are popular neighborhood eateries. You can call ahead and order a Thanksgiving pie (or more) from Four ‘n 20. Their menu offers many choices including pumpkin, blueberry, strawberry rhubarb pie, and many more. 

House of Pies
1869 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90027

This Los Feliz Coffee Shop is quite popular. They’ve been in business since 1969 and have a loyal following. They bake fruit pies, cream pies, pecan pies, meringue, and more. And of course you’ll also find seasonal favorites such as pumpkin. Take a look at the tempting photos on their website!

This popular Eagle Rock spot offers a variety of award-winning pies for your holiday meal. Families will find a large variety of pies here including the Fall Berry Cabernet, the Bourbon Chocolate Walnut, the Southern Caramel Chess, the Fall Cranberry Caramel Apple Pecan, and more. Be sure to check the website for ordering information. 

Marie Callender’s

Marie Callender’s is known for their pies, so if you’re looking for something familiar this may be the place. Choose from cream pies (including chocolate cream and lemon meringue), speciality pies (including key lime and pecan), fruit pies (French apple and cherry), and more.

Pie ‘N Burger
913 E. California Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91106

“A Pasadena Tradition since 1963,” Pie ‘N Burger is a terrific place to enjoy a meal and of course a Nice Slice of Pie. It’s a slice of history, too, as it’s still in the same location and essentially serving the same menu as ever. Check out their seasonal fruit pies, their meringues, and their classics (Dutch apple, pumpkin, boysenberry, and more). And while you’re there, make sure you came hungry for a burger.

Republic of Pie

It may be a bit difficult to find parking at this popular spot in North Hollywood, but most folks think the effort is completely worth it! Thanksgiving pies can easily be ordered online at Republic of Pie’s website. Whole pies include pumpkin, cookies and cream, pecan, cherry, and more.

Simplethings Restaurant

As the name suggests, the menu is relatively simple, but still tasty. You can use the online order form to reserve your Thanksgiving pie from Simplethings. Choices include key lime pie, s’mores pie, salted caramel pie, and more. Check the website for details. 

Southern Girl Desserts
3650 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90008

Two “Dessert Divas” are behind the yummy treats you’ll find at Southern Girl Desserts. Established in 2007, since then the Dessert Divas competed on and won Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.” Pies are available in two sizes (mini and whole – serving at least 8 slices). Daily flavors are sweet potato and pecan. Certain flavors are available on certain days and/or seasonally. Check the website for ordering information.

Sweet Lady Jane

You will most likely have a difficult time deciding among the pies at Sweet Lady Jane. But know you’re in good company, because their “Pear Almond Tart” earned the designation as one of Oprah’s 2016 Favorite Things. They also offer cherry pie (an item from Oprah’s 2015 Favorite Things), apple pie, and more. And you don’t have to limit yourself to pie – you may be tempted to expand the dessert offerings this year with one of Sweet Lady Jane’s cakes or cheesecakes.

Sweet Red Peach
1035 S. Prairie Ave. #2, Los Angeles, CA 90301

Sweet Red Peach is a family-owned and operated business. You’ll often find a line of customers waiting to get into this small shop, but the desserts are worth the wait. Desserts include the popular Sweet Potato Pie, the Peach Cobbler, and many more. Vegan options are also available.

The Gourmet Cobbler Factory

The Gourmet Cobbler Factory is a small Pasadena shop full of flavor and yumminess. In business for over 20 years now, many families return again and again. Cobblers and pies come in different sizes. Offerings include sweet potato pie, pecan pie, blackberry cobbler, apple cobbler, and more. The shop is closed on Mondays.

The Pie Hole

At The Pie Hole, pies are baked “from scratch, by hand, using only the highest quality ingredients.” The menu changes seasonally, with some vegan options available as well. You’ll find traditional favorites here as well as more unique flavors. The Pie Hole generally sells slices of pies. To guarantee you can get a delicious pie for the holiday, make sure you order it online or call the location nearest you to order it in advance. You can opt for a full-size pie or try a box of their assorted “pie holes” – a 24-pack of “bites of pie” filled with all the good stuff found in full-sized pies. Be sure to check the website. Each location offers different hours.

The Village Bakery and Cafe
3119 Los Feliz Blvd., Atwater Village, CA 90039

The Village Bakery and Cafe is a neighborhood favorite for many families. They offer special seasonal treats. Traditional holiday offerings in the past have included apple crumb pies, chocolate pecan, pumpkin, and more. Call ahead to confirm this year’s holiday pie menu. Note the Bakery’s new hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

Valerie Confections
1665 Echo Park Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90026

Families near Echo Park are already familiar with Valerie Confections. Founded in 2004 and first recognized as one of the nation’s top chocolatiers, Valerie Confections offers 9 inch pies (serving 6 to 8 guests) and come in a variety of flavors including Apple Cider Pie, Pear and Cranberry Crumble Pie, and Winter Luxury Pumpkin Pie to name a few. Holiday ordering information is available online. 

Winston Pies

All Winston Pies are made from scratch using locally-sourced, all-natural ingredients. They carry 11-inch full-size pies, 5-inch mini pies, 4-inch-square hand pies,  and 2.5-inch pie bites. A variety of flavors are offered including Chocolate Cowgirl Pie, Fall Pumpkin Pie, Harvest Apple Pie, and more. Gluten-free and vegan options are also available. Note, the new hours at the Third Street location, which is now closed Mondays through Wednesdays.
