Before I tell you about my new Saatva Mattress, I have to tell you about my old mattress. Every night when I crawled into bed I would sink down until eventually it was like I was on a float in a pool. If I wanted to snuggle with my husband, I had to heave myself over the flat center of the mattress. And then fall into his sunken area. I’m being dramatic, but our old mattress was on its last legs and killing my back when I received an email from Saatva, the online luxury mattress company.
I was given a Saatva mattress for review purposes and it could not have come at a better time. My husband and I had talked about buying a new mattress, but neither one of us wanted to go to a mattress or department store to test them out. With Saatva, we didn’t have to leave our house; it came to us. And I can honestly say that I love our new mattress.
The mattress arrived about a month ago and my back feels so much better. I don’t wake up in the middle night because I can’t get comfortable and I don’t start my day in pain. I feel good. Saatva mattresses come in three comfort levels – Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm. I wanted Firm and my husband wanted Plush Soft so we compromised and got the Luxury Firm. It’s described as “the perfect mattress for couples with different sleep needs.” That’s us!
Saatva mattresses are made with a lumbar support enhancement, individually wrapped comfort coils and an organic cotton cover and Euro pillow top, which did feel luxurious to me. They are made in the USA and seem to have good customer service.
We were given a California King with a foundation (like a box spring). It included free delivery and mattress removal. The prices of this package is $1,399, which is so much less than we spent on our luxury mattress about 12 years ago.
I’m very happy with the entire experience. My husband was nervous about getting a mattress online that we couldn’t try before we bought it. Saatva offers a 120-day, no-penalty home trial. The mattress can be returned at any time (you have to pay $99 in transportation costs) and they don’t restock old mattresses.
