Lakota offers exciting opportunities for the first-time camper as well as the seasoned camper. From the thrill of horseback riding, swimming in the sparkling pool, zip lining, taking aim at archery, traveling across the low ropes, and enjoying new friendships around the flickering campfire, Lakota truly has something for everyone. With emphasis placed on teamwork and building community, campers develop strong bonds and leadership skills and make lifelong friends. Campers go home with a stronger feeling of independence and self-esteem and an incredible sense of accomplishment and belonging. A co-ed, traditional sleepaway camp for ages 7 to 16, uniquely located on a 900-acre ranch in the Sierras north of Lake Tahoe. Family-owned and operated since 1956, our limited enrollment and tech-free policy allow for a more personal experience and family-like feel that bring all of the camp together.
At MMR, campers experience more than the fun and activities that are a given of the camp experience, but also grow in self-confidence and character, fostering new friendships and memorable experiences that last a lifetime. Our entire program is centered around the principles of servant leadership and our guiding values that weave throughout the camp experience: inclusivity, empathy, stewardship, integrity, authenticity, and mindfulness.

Nestled in the scenic foothills of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, River Way’s 72 acres offer an unparalleled environment for campers to learn, thrive, and grow.

With the list of options now topping 75 activities, River Way Ranch Camp offers a wider range of summer camp activities than almost any camp in the nation! Our program of recreational and learning opportunities has something for every interest, such as culinary arts, horseback riding, ropes challenge course, film production, dance, gymnastics, martial arts, waterskiing, wave runners, and sports of all kinds.
