Description:

Bionerds offers fun, hands-on biology workshops for kids K-8th grades in many cities throughout Orange County. We have after-school, in-class, homeschool, camps, party, field trips, and Girl Scouts programs. Our curriculum covers vast biology topics from insects, plants, human, genetics, microorganisms, forensic, and more. Your child will have up-close experiences with live/preserved organisms, perform dissections and biology experiments/activities using lab tools. We have been offering our programs to many school districts, cities, home associations, and homeschool facilities throughout Orange County.

Our teachers have college degrees in Biology or related sciences/experiences, some even have graduate degrees. We are honored to be chosen the Best Science/Tech Camp for multiple years by the Parenting OC Magazine families from 2016-2019. We are also chosen as one of the Coolest After-Class programs in the Country by the Red Tricycle website. We are featured in many family websites as one of the great programs for kids in Orange County.

CalArts Summer Art Intensive for High School Students

Description:

Students 14-17 years old participate in a series of workshops and critiques led by CalArts faculty and alumni, attend artist talks and screenings, explore methods and spend time in the studio developing skills and making art.

Residential students will live in Chouinard Hall, CalArts’ BFA dorms, and both residential and commuter students will be able to participate in daily activities such as film screenings, games in the recreation hall or open swim in the CalArts pool. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a field trip to Disneyland for an additional fee. All levels welcome to apply.

Camp StarCrest is a co-ed sleep away camp with academic, art, athletic, aquatic, and adventure activities. All activities are centered around our 5-Star Values that promote friendship, confidence, curiosity, service, and leadership. This summer even though we are not able to meet in-person, we will be having an interactive, virtual camp experience that promotes the same values from the comfort and safety of your home! Online programs include STEM, Art, Film, Acting, Fitness, Dance, Cheer, Book Club, or a combination of activities. We are confident that later in the summer/ fall we’ll be able to provide in-person meet ups (hiking, beach trips, art days, camp outs, etc) for our families.

Over night summer camp located in beautiful Angelus Oaks, just south of Big Bear. We offer 1- and 2- week options for boys & girls, age 5-16. Camp Wildcraft

Description:

At Camp Wildcraft we grow creative, curious, confident & caring kids who feel at home in nature. We are small by design, a warm place where kids feel connected and part of a community. At our three sites at in Calabasas, Malibu, and Northridge,  our adventurous art and nature camp empowers kids to discover the hidden natural world—and their hidden strengths. During weekly sessions, Campers create big art projects–inspired by big themes, paint and draw, explore and hike, sculpt in wood and clay, sew a pouch to carry handmade nature journals, build forts, go on scavenger hunts, and much more! Each week campers choose from a changing menu of creative and fun activities including theatre, fiber arts, cooking and more. Each summer day is an opportunity to explore with all our senses, and find joy and wonder in the wild places around us. We invite you to join us!

Camp Hours: 9am – 3:30 with extended care

Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Summer Camps

Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles offers six unique camp opportunities.  You don’t have to be a Girl Scout to enjoy summer camp!

Overnight Camps in the beautiful mountains of Big Bear Lake and Frazier Park!
Camp Osito Rancho- Big Bear Lake

With bus transportation included in the price of camp, come experience six days, five nights of camping.  Program options include learning how to ride horses, conquering the ropes course, canoeing in our pond (older girls on Big Bear Lake), zip lining, sleeping under the stars, and much more!

Camp Lakota- Frazier Park

Individual older girls (high school) come join us for a traditional six-day, five-night tent-camping experience.

To align with many parents’ desire to keep kids occupied over the summer with activities that are fun and educational, Flower Duet designed 12 weeks of “Living Art Camp” themes ranging from American Flowers Week to coincide with SlowFlowers.com annual celebration of American flower farmers, to Wizard Week for fans of Harry Potter. New Roads is offering a Remote Summer School across Elementary, Middle and Upper School from June 22 – July 31. Our programming plans have been modified to accommodate for the evolving challenges and needs posed by the Novel Coronavirus.

Because of this unprecedented context, New Roads has redesigned our summer programs to meet the needs of our students and families. Our Remote Summer Programs, built on relationships, connection, and community, will offer students an opportunity to strengthen and consolidate core academic skills, to accelerate their placement in mathematics, and to enjoy enrichment experiences designed by our extraordinary New Roads faculty.

Given that our families have been impacted financially by COVID-19, New Roads is subsidizing the summer school not only for Current and Incoming New Roads families but to make the prices as accessible as possible for the whole community.

Priority Registration for Current and Incoming New Roads Families will be May 22 – 29. Registration for the wider community will commence May 30. Registration will close at 5pm on June 8 (if the class is not full) for classes commencing on June 22.

Although digital in design, space for these camps are limited since teachers work directly with campers from 9 am to 3 pm. Furthermore, to insure a fun camp the entire family can enjoy, materials for these online versions of our summer camps will be provided.
