MomsLA is celebrating summer by helping you “Go on a Date with GODIVA.” We’re giving away 10 $25 GODIVA gift cards and all you have to do to enter to win is tell us “What was your most memorable summer fling?” (Make sure and let us know that you did in the Rafflecopter below.)

My most memorable summer fling was during my first trip to New York. That fling led to a wedding, two kids, and 11- years of marriage. We’ve had a lot of chocolate during that time and I think that’s part of why we have such a happy marriage.

GODIVA wants you to fall in love this summer with its new  Trufflelata™ and Soft Serve at GODIVA’S boutique stores. GODIVA’s Trufflelata™ is a frozen shake made with your choice of truffles – Chocolate Lava Cake, Salted Caramel, Strawberry Crème, Hazelnut Crunch, Milk Chocolate and Oreo® Cookie.

GODIVA’S Soft Serve sounds equally delightful. It’s made with premium and authentic Belgian chocolate and comes in three different flavors – Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate Vanilla Bean and Swirl. It comes in a cup or a waffle cone dipped in dark or white chocolate.

If you happen to win one of the 10 $25 GODIVA gift cards, make sure and post an Instagram picture of GODIVA’s Trufflelata™ or Soft Serve with the #GODIVAsweeps hashtag to enter to win a year of GODIVA. The gift are redeemable in-store. For more details see the Rafflecopter below.

I also had a summer fling in NY when I was in my 20s. I was there for a music industry convention, met this dude in an East Village club, the kind of place that did “punk cabaret” (It was the 4th of July and the performance was of something called the KKK Dancers. Tasteless. But funny). When I told him I was on my first visit, from Los Angeles, he said his car was outside and he would show me around. Car turned out to be a cab, and I got the Checker tour of Manhattan, speeding through the streets and watching people light things under cars and stuff. It didn’t go anywhere, but it was fun while it lasted and it was probably the most reckless thing I ever did up to that time – and afterwards.

One hot summer my friends and i were hanging out listening to music late one night. ..my neighbor as me if we wanted to party with him at a house party. At a friend’s house. Did ask twice we got dressed hop in his car…sped away in the warm air breeze & feeding excited. We arrive not knowing anyone there. we walk in look amazing enough that we were grabbing a lot of attention. We all scattered indifferent directions enjoying the music. About ten minutes in my neighbor ask me if i wanted anted to dance…but not with him. He points to this gorgeous guy. He was standing there watching me in a very seductive way …i fell into a trans by this guy. As we dance he tells me he i caught his eyes the moment i walked in.
I was enjoying his company so much i didn’t want the night to end. Then one of the girls disappear with another group of guys. He offers to go with me to find her…which i did. We head back to the party not realizing it was very late we had our neighbor to drop us off. Not wanting to leave i was gone feeling sad of ur end. I still wonder about him what his life turned out and what it could have been .

I was 16 and went to Hawaii with some family friends. The hotel we were staying in had a store and we would stop there for snacks and drinks. I met the owner’s son. Tall, Hawaiian and a smile that gave me butterflies. We started talking (when his father wasn’t looking) and on the last day gave me a kiss good-bye. He set off the butterflies and we wrote letters to each other for about a year. He always started the letters the same “To My California Girl.” Sweet!

I would have to say my most memorable summer fling was when I was in high school. We had a foreign exchange student staying with our family that summer, and I thought he was gorgeous. We ended up having a short-lived summer fling that was perfect because he was only in town for a month. Sometimes I still think about visiting him, even all these years later…

I’ve never had a summer fling, oddly enough! I was too busy spending my youth eating chocolate, I guess!

Summer fling? wow….. hmm went to NYC by myself to see some friends.. I was to interview a couple of musicians. (brothers) in the city. As it worked out, they weren’t coming into the city…. instead I had to hop a bus from Port Authority (this from a girl who did NOT know where Port Authority was and had just learned how to ride the subway…. ) I took the bus to Penn. and met the guys and did a great interview. took tons of photos and someone drove me back……. and then he wanted to see me later that weekend.. which we kept missing connections. (maybe that’s a good thing.)

My most memorable summer fling was at summer camp. We were both counselors. His little sisters both attended the camp and it was so hard hiding it from them, especially the older one! We stayed in touch after the summer but no romance after the temps went down!

Haven’t really had a summer fling, but met some boys at church camp and was their “girlfriend” for the whole week we were there – haha.

It was the Summer of 2000 and I worked as a camp counselor for children alongside this guy at a church summer camp. A few weeks after, we took the kids to Disneyland to reunite and once the kids went home, we decided to stay and that’s when the fireworks started (literally…as Tinkerbell flew over the castle)! Now it’s 14 years later and we’re happily married with an almost 2 year old…now that was the BEST summer fling ever!

My most memorable was the one I met and had a whirlwind romance over the summer, including a trip together. We married the same summer. That was over 25 years ago.

About four years ago I went with my friend to some camp he was staying at. I met a girl there and we really hit it off. I only stayed there for a week, but we spent every single day together. It was a blast. I got her number and we talked a few times after this, but eventually we just lost touch. Still though, it was one of the best weeks of my life!
