Halloween is my family’s favorite time of year and it’s made even more special when we get to go to Disneyland. My boys had a day off of school recently so we headed to the park to find both Disneyland and California Adventure decked out with spooky decorations and special events. The Space Mountain ride had become The Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and the Haunted Mansion (pictured below) turned into the Nightmare Before Christmas inspired Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Big Thunder Ranch in Disneyland hosted Disney’s Halloween Time Carnival where special guests can pop in at any moment.

The carnival had an area for kids to make masks and do other arts and crafts plus a pumpkin carving display.

If you love Halloween and Disneyland you might want to buy advance tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party (in advance! It often sells out). Kids and parents can dress up in costume and trick-or-treat (there’s both healthy treats and candy). Mickey’s Halloween Party tickets bought in advance are $54 and tickets day of are $64. All tickets for Oct. 29 and 31st are $69. The tickets get you into Disneyland 3 hours before the park closes and then entrance to the private Halloween party.

The party includes the Halloween Screams Fireworks show and Mickey’s Costume Party Cavalcade. We had an excellent day just enjoying the decorations and rides.
