Hey Parents, this is it! This is the final week to get in that LAUSD Magnet Application for next fall and check that “to-do” off your list! Applications are accepted online at eChoices.lausd.net. The deadline to apply is this Friday, November 15, 2013 BEFORE 5pm. After that, it’s over and out, as they won’t accept any late applications. Then you can chill and start reviewing your Thanksgiving menus. Pumpkin or pecan? Or both?
What are Magnet Schools?
Magnets are tuition-free voluntary integration programs offering students a diverse and unique educational opportunity based on a specific focus or theme. Themes range from Performing Arts, to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), to Journalism to Humanities and more. There are 191 magnet programs across Los Angeles Unified, with more opening every year. Students from all over LA apply via the online eChoices application which is a weighted points-based lottery. Transportation is provided by bus if you qualify. Must be a resident of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to apply.
Apply online at echoices.lausd.net.
