There is nothing like the first time your kids see a woman sawed in half. Sarah and I were lucky to be with our kids when they experienced this at Magicopolis, the iconic Santa Monica comedy magic show. Steve Spill not only sawed a woman in half, but did a death defying trick that involved falling spikes, chains, and a curtain.
And he also pulled my son on stage (he’s on the left) to do a card trick.
Spill opened his magic shop and theatre on Santa Monica’s 4th Street in 1998 with his wife and fellow magician Bozena Wrobel.
They are just as fun as ever and put on an amazing and hilarious show. Spill’s been doing magic his entire life. His dad managed the Magic Castle and Spill has been doing magic ever since going on the road opening for standup shows of Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno.
We went to an 8 p.m. show and it was great for the entire family. Magicopolis has a magic shop, theater, and a bar.
If your kids are into magic and the magic shop isn’t enough, Magicopolis also has birthday parties that include a magic class and show.

We were not compensated for this post, but we did get to enjoy a magic show with our families. All opinions are our own.
