Online Summer Camps for a Virtual Summer

Updated for 2023

Looking for an Online Summer Camp for your kids? These Camps are ready to keep kids busy all Summer long, with virtual programming you can access from home.

Many of the online Camps lets kids continue learning all Summer long, while others will focus more on helping kids move their bodies and stay active – and have fun!

The best part about these online courses is that you’ll be able to access them from anywhere; no matter where you live you can choose your own adventure this Summer. Try STEM Summer Camp one week, and a virtual art camp the next.

Whatever your kids like to do, there’s an Online Summer Camp for them.

Virtual Summer Camps Keep Kids Busy

Summer time can be a time of fun and adventure, but it’s important that kids continue learning so they don’t fall behind. Don’t forget: learning takes many forms, and even just interacting with other kids via a platform like Zoom helps promote healthy learning.

The time kids spend in a virtual Summer Camp can also help give parents much needed time of their own, especially if they are working from home.

Plus, it’s fun!

Kids: Choose Your Own Adventure this Summer

The wonderful opportunity here is that we are not limited by the physical distance between where you live and where the Camp is. With online courses, your children can do anything and everything they like to do. They get to choose based on what they like instead of what’s close by.

They can also allow kids to explore new things to see if they like them. It might be easier for a shy kid to try a Cooking Class virtually than to commit to spending a whole week in a camp. And it may involve cooking with Mom or Dad, which could make it even more fun – and a family bonding experience, too.

What About STEM Summer Camp?

If your kid is into STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, you’re in luck. These types of Summer Camps may be the easiest to deliver online. Learning to code, studying chemistry, applied math and statistics are all perfectly suited to an online classroom setting – and they are all potentially terrific job skills for your kid to have someday!

Online Camps for Kids in 2023

As you explore these options for a virtual Summer, try to decide which ones will ignite a passion in your child for a new course of study in the Fall. Or look for ones that will allow kids to explore something new that they’ve never tried before. Whatever you decide, we hope your kids have a wonderful Summer.

The camp day is broken up into a variety of exciting activities, both on and off-screen, and includes structured break times.

Schedule: 9am – 4pm , M – F, Weeklong Camps, all summer long
Locations: Encino, Santa Monica, Westwood, West Hollywood, and Irvine

Daily Schedule:

Discovery Launch – We will always start the day with an intro period in which we introduce the objectives for the day and demo what the final outcome might look like. Campers will then be led by the instructor using our dialogue format in which our instructors have students actively participate in discovering how to reach the objective by asking questions throughout rather than simply lecturing.

Let’s Move It… Outside – This will be the 1st of three break periods during the camp day in which we will lead the students in STEM themed fun activities outside. For one of many examples, think of Simon says, but with a robot giving orders and using coding concepts such as loops and conditionals.

Innovation Hour – Campers will continue working on their projects and the instructor will introduce challenges that will require students to get their innovative caps on to be able to complete.

Let’s Get Physical… Outside – This will be the 2nd of three break periods during the camp day in which we will lead the campers in STEM themed fun activities outside.

Ideation & Iteration – Campers will wrap up the day’s objectives and will now get to customize their projects as well as come up with ideas on how to make their project unique.

Golden Hour Giggles (Outside) – In the 3rd break of the day, students will have fun outside. In this period, we tend to focus more on team-building activities rather than very physical activities although there is a mix of that as well.

Buddy Up & Brainstorm – Campers will buddy up to see and experience each other’s projects. If students made digital art, the partner will get to run the code and ask questions about how this was created. If students made a game, their partner can play and test the game. Together, they can brainstorm more ways to customize and add to this project.

Project Landing – In the last period of the day, campers will wrap up the day with a recap of the day’s objectives and key concepts and ideas for the next day of camp.
