The key to each actor’s creative genius lies in their sense of play. Too often, in this industry and in this world, we think that mining our pain will lead to our best performance—when what is most often overlooked (and often overlooked) is tapping into our joy. Taught by the incomparable ZBS faculty, we will combine the meaningful, professional and holistic training ZBS is known for, with some true summer fun! This is not only an enormous opportunity to evolve your art, but to have a ridiculously good time doing it.

The camp day is broken up into a variety of exciting activities, both on and off-screen, and includes structured break times.
Schedule: 9am – 4pm , M – F, Weeklong Camps, all summer long
Locations: Encino, Santa Monica, Westwood, and Irvine
Discovery Launch – We will always start the day with an intro period in which we introduce the objectives for the day and demo what the final outcome might look like. Campers will then be led by the instructor using our dialogue format in which our instructors have students actively participate in discovering how to reach the objective by asking questions throughout rather than simply lecturing.
Let’s Move It… Outside – This will be the 1st of three break periods during the camp day in which we will lead the students in STEM themed fun activities outside. For one of many examples, think of Simon says, but with a robot giving orders and using coding concepts such as loops and conditionals.
Innovation Hour – Campers will continue working on their projects and the instructor will introduce challenges that will require students to get their innovative caps on to be able to complete.
Let’s Get Physical… Outside – This will be the 2nd of three break periods during the camp day in which we will lead the campers in STEM themed fun activities outside.
Ideation & Iteration – Campers will wrap up the day’s objectives and will now get to customize their projects as well as come up with ideas on how to make their project unique.
Golden Hour Giggles (Outside) – In the 3rd break of the day, students will have fun outside. In this period, we tend to focus more on team-building activities rather than very physical activities although there is a mix of that as well.
Buddy Up & Brainstorm – Campers will buddy up to see and experience each other’s projects. If students made digital art, the partner will get to run the code and ask questions about how this was created. If students made a game, their partner can play and test the game. Together, they can brainstorm more ways to customize and add to this project.
Project Landing – In the last period of the day, campers will wrap up the day with a recap of the day’s objectives and key concepts and ideas for the next day of camp.

Check out a parent’s review:
“Our eight-year-old daughter got to perform stand-up for an audience. It was one of those moments I will never forget as a parent. I got to see a side of her that I’d never seen. She was poised, confident, and really looked like she was in her element. We always thought she’d like to be on stage, but she’s never been this excited about any theater, dance, or singing performance she’s done in the past. She’s always liked telling and writing jokes, but we didn’t think much of it. I’m not sure what they exactly did at the camp, but they really helped her to find herself on the stage. I’ve never seen her shine as she did during the show after just 5 days of camp. Also, the show at the end of the week was incredibly well produced. You’d think a kids’ comedy show would probably be a little boring and awkward, but it was actually incredibly entertaining and fun. Thank you!”

Girls Data Camp is a Los Angeles based summer camp designed to empower young women to embrace the power of math in today’s data-driven world.
Our camp was founded with the mission to encourage girls entering 7th, 8th and 9th grade math to discover the fascinating world of data. We believe that no matter what their interests are – whether it’s fashion, sports, robotics, photography, cooking, music – everything is driven by data! We show our campers how to make sense of data in a fun and approachable way, unlocking their interest and inspiration.
At Girls Data Camp, we create a welcoming and inclusive environment where young women can discover the endless possibilities of math. We help our campers realize that math is not just a tool, but a key to unlocking their full potential and making a difference in the world.
To kick off our first day, we’ll begin with introductions and an overview of the data cycle. We’ll discuss the importance of data and how it’s used in various industries. Then, we’ll dive into the basics of data, exploring what data are and the different types of data.
Next, we’ll move on to the practical side of things. We’ll walk through the tools we’ll be using throughout the week, including Google Forms and Google Sheets. Campers will learn how to use these tools to collect and organize data efficiently.
Later, we’ll introduce Jupyter Notebooks and Python. Campers will learn how to use these powerful tools to analyze and visualize data. Our experienced instructors will guide them through the basics of coding, so no prior experience is required.
By the end of the program, campers be fully equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to collect and analyze data like a pro.
Get ready for a week of exciting exploration and discovery in the world of data!
Lively five-day TEEN IMPROV CAMPS, or one-day TEEN DROP-INS, get teens on their feet working on characters, improvisation, and acting through a variety of fun games and improv exercises. The diverse biomes across Los Angeles are our outdoor classrooms where teachers guide participants on foot to experience wonder and connection.
Our experienced educators are trained naturalists who know how to connect students to the natural world in a fun and safe way! Activities vary by day, environment and group interest, but include hiking, herping, bird watching, journaling, nature crafts (dream catchers, mandalas, seed bombs, insect hotels), nature-focused games, foraging, and more!
