The Groundlings School, the preeminent improv training ground that launched comedy icons like Will Ferrell, Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph (and so many more), announces the exciting return of our Teen Classes! Our interactive classes get teens up on their feet and having fun working on improvisation, characters, and acting through a variety of hilarious, high-energy games and improv exercises. Improv can also promote socio-emotional growth by building confidence, boosting creativity, and overcoming fears by challenging teens to face uncertainty together in a supportive, judgement-free environment. We offer TEEN CAMPS that include an open-class style presentation for friends and family, TEEN PRO classes that help teens build a foundation for what every good actor and improviser needs to know, and one-day TEEN DROP-INS that give students a solid introduction to improv and acting.

Discover the magic of an Idyllwild Arts summer, where kids and teens can explore their creativity, build confidence, and forge lifelong friendships with other student artists in a beautiful, supportive, and welcoming sleepaway camp environment. Our immersive intensives and workshops for ages 5-17 are taught by renowned teaching artists, providing hands-on guidance for students to hone their artistic technique while emphasizing educational values, personal values, and achievement.

The Idyllwild Arts Summer Program offers workshops for all ages and abilities on our picturesque campus set amongst the pines in the stunning San Jacinto mountains of Southern California, with residential “sleepaway” options for ages 10+. The tradition of gathering an impassioned community of artists during the summer months in Idyllwild, CA dates back over seven decades and has served generations of musicians, painters, writers and performers in a variety of disciplines including dance and theatre.

LA Opera Connects Opera Camp

AN UNFORGETTABLE SUMMER OPERA EXPERIENCE

Join Opera Camp and let our teaching artists help you find your voice. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary. You just have to want to express yourself through music.

Opera Camp is an enriching two-week program where you will develop your artistic abilities in an intense, fun-filled experience, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.* At the end of camp, students will perform a fully-staged opera in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, inspired by the stories of our unique communities.

2024 DATES
Week 1: July 22-26 (Monday through Friday)
Week 2: July 29-August 3 (Monday through Saturday)

There will be coaching sessions for some performers before camp begins – dates and times TBA
*Some rehearsals may run until 4pm.

Campers work each day with LA Opera Connects teaching artists, receiving extensive musical, dramatic and movement coaching.

THINGS TO KNOW
Opera Camp is open to students ages 9-17.
We ask that all campers sign up for an audition so that we can get to know you (details in application).
Tuition: $1,000 per student for the two-week program. Limited need-based scholarships are available – please see the details in the sign-up form.
Upon acceptance, tuition will be due no later than one week before camp begins.

Nestled in the scenic foothills of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, River Way’s 72 acres offer an unparalleled environment for campers to learn, thrive, and grow.

With the list of options now topping 75 activities, River Way Ranch Camp offers a wider range of summer camp activities than almost any camp in the nation! Rising kindergarten through 8th graders, listen up because we’ve got some exciting news! Summer at The Center is calling your name, and you won’t want to miss out on the fun. At The Center, you can design your own day camp adventure and mix and match activities to create the ultimate summer experience. Do you want to learn a new language, sink some hoops, brush up on math skills, design a robot, or dance your heart out? Whatever you choose, you can do it all at The Center this summer.

And let’s not forget about the amazing features The Center has to offer. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art classrooms, outstanding athletic facilities, and nurturing staff who are ready to make your summer unforgettable. Plus, with expert teachers guiding you through each activity, you’ll be learning and having fun at the same time.

Summer at The Center has it all – arts, science, inventions, athletics, drones, architecture, cooking, Minecraft, robotics, crafts, language arts, mathemagic, dance, drama, and so much more. With one-week programs available, you can choose the perfect summer camp experience that suits you.

Campers may be dropped off between 8:00-9:00 a.m. for no extra charge. Classes run from 9:00 am-3:00 p.m. Afternoon Extended Day Care is available from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at $15 per hour per family for any portion of an hour.
