Upstage Theatre Schools Summer Camps are a great way for kids to have fun, make friends, and express themselves creatively. With an approach that includes acting, singing, and dancing, Upstage students learn to speak more clearly, move more easily, and act with confidence.
We offer summer camps in our three regions: Wests LA, San Gabriel Valley, and Conejo Valley.
We have three camp style options:
One-Week camps that are focused on a popular theme/movie/musical culminating in an informal showcase at the end of the camp week for family and friends!
Two-Week & Three-Week camps that are centered around a musical (The Little Mermaid & Matilda) culminating in two fully realized performances with costumes, sets, lights, and more!
Welcome to Act One Theatre Camp, a dynamic and interactive theatre experience where campers, ages 6-15, will spend each and every day acting, singing, dancing, and more! Join us as we rock out in our unique and exciting classes on the Glendale Community College campus. Whatever class they’re in, be it acting or movie-making, make-up or dance, or singing or improv… the spotlight will follow them the whole time! Campers will create and star in their own theatrical adventures, and will showcase their amazing talents for the whole family to enjoy at our end-of-camp Big Show. The key to each actor’s creative genius lies in their sense of play. Too often, in this industry and in this world, we think that mining our pain will lead to our best performance—when what is most often overlooked (and often overlooked) is tapping into our joy. Taught by the incomparable ZBS faculty, we will combine the meaningful, professional and holistic training ZBS is known for, with some true summer fun! This is not only an enormous opportunity to evolve your art, but to have a ridiculously good time doing it.
“If you’re not having fun, then you’re doing something wrong” – Jordan Peele

Check out a parent’s review:
“Our eight-year-old daughter got to perform stand-up for an audience. It was one of those moments I will never forget as a parent. I got to see a side of her that I’d never seen. She was poised, confident, and really looked like she was in her element. We always thought she’d like to be on stage, but she’s never been this excited about any theater, dance, or singing performance she’s done in the past. She’s always liked telling and writing jokes, but we didn’t think much of it. I’m not sure what they exactly did at the camp, but they really helped her to find herself on the stage. I’ve never seen her shine as she did during the show after just 5 days of camp. Also, the show at the end of the week was incredibly well produced. You’d think a kids’ comedy show would probably be a little boring and awkward, but it was actually incredibly entertaining and fun. Thank you!”
